Skills needed for FW

Hi all

My corp is thinking of going into FW for the gallente and since my main is a industrialist, I don't want to loose access to Amarr and Jita

So I though I would either train up an unused alt (this one) or buy a toon.

However, having not done FW before, I am unsure the skill set needed.

i was thinking of shield-tanking Mim so was looking at

Frigate V
Destroyer V
Cruiser IV
Battlecruiser IV
Battleship IV

Small T2 Projectile Weap spec (both) to IV
Medium T2 Projectile Weap spec (both) to IV
Gunnary support skills to III

Navigation support skills to IV

Shield Support skills to IV

Will that be sufficient for FW (PVE and PVP)?

Any advice people can give would be great

Honestly, a ship with guns and a will to get into a fight is all you need. The rest is frosting. It's nice to be on top with skill points, but really, to get started:

A stack of ships and the will to fight.

Generally speaking, don't bother with BS stuff for FW. Good way to make isk while not fighting, but since you have an indy alt I don't see why you'd bother.

(Disclaimer: BSes aren't technically completely absent from low-sec warfare, but not terribly common so not worth training unless you guys have a specific fleet comp in mind.)

In addition to the already good suggestions provided so far, Signature Analysis V. Locking targets quickly can be quite helpful.

BS are only used for bunker bust, though Tier 3 Battlecruisers can handle that quite well.

focus on frigates and destroyers first, those are by far most used in FW.

Hi all

Thanks for your replys. Just had a chance to look over them as wife had baby last week so things are pretty hectic and EvE time is low :)

So looking at this I think I will concentrate on Frig and Destroyers, small guns and support skills and then look at the larger stuff if I need to later

Cheers and fly safe (except when I am trying to shoot you)
