Predict the Winner competitions returning for ATX

Welcome to the studio segment of Alliance Tournament X. Like last year, we will hold our ‘Predict the Winner’ threads for players to win prizes including Logitech goodies, EON swag and PLEX. This thread will explain how prizes are awarded and winners chosen.

The rules:

• The rules are pretty simple. Before each match we will publish a ‘Predict the Winner’ thread. Players can participate by replying to the thread with the name of their team.

• The cut off for entries will be when the match starts.

• Any posts which are edited, for any reason, will be considered null and void.

* Votes are limited to one vote per player. Please do not vote multiple times.

Winner Selection:

• Winners are selected using a random number generator so let me give you an example of how that works. Let us take a match from last week of RAZOR Alliance vs. Dirt Nap Squad. Let us pretend that there were 20 pages of replies.

* Once the match has been decided we will randomly select a page through the random number generator between 1 and 20.
* Once a page has been decided we will count the number of correct entries for that team. In this particular match RAZOR won so let’s say there were 9 players who chose RAZOR, we would once again use the RNG to choose a number between 1 and 9 and that is your winner.

Prize allocation and delivery:

Each winner will be contacted via EVE Mail during the coming week about how their prize will be delivered.

• For PLEX we will simply allocate this to a character of your choice
• For EON and Logitech prizes we will contact you for delivery details and these will be posted to you.

This is a rather unfair "random" draw method, FYI.

Something doesent seem quite fair, but I'm not sure what.

It seems totally random to me. Sort of.

Unless someone posts on each page.

you would stand more chance of winning if less people pick the winning team on your page, so you would want to put your winning selection on a page that has alot of post for the other team. You could all so fill the page with post other than selection with alts so yours is the only selection on page or a low number of selections boosting your chances if your page is chosen.


Why dont you just add all the winning selections up and use that number, number 1 is the 1st to post it 2 - 2nd to post and so on

I am sorry that some of you are not happy with the random factor. Since last year we saw that the announcement thread became populated with player predictions, I will be locking this as an informational post only.
