My assessment of scamming and trolling in the game.

This game does make me truly laugh. You see every side of human nature, which is what makes the game great.
Anything and everything can and will happen. CCP actively wants these choices.

Investments have always been a minefield. At anytime you could lose your money to a scam.
Scams are hugely widespread in the game. It doesn't just happen here, it is all over the eve market its just that people don't post their plans and intentions.

Some scams were things of beauty in their simplicity, such as ROME0 10 for 1 scam in jita that brought in about 80B. Worked perfectly on the human psyche as people wanted to believe it with the selective payment of individuals being paid and stating it in local.

Scams like BB involved being more personally involved in the investment. The greater the emotional capital the bigger the response and feeling of being betrayed.

The problem with scams is not how they were done or what the results are. It is the polarising of the forums and the piety of some players and their opposite. The I am holier than though attitude and I would never steal not even in a game, and strive to make the game or MD better by following their example. The two sides almost take a religious view and will never be moved in their belief.

The Mary Whitehouse's (google it ) of the world. It is only a small minority that speaks up (the rest of society couldn't care less), but governments only hear the vocal minority so they pay attention.

Just a game, and I salute BB for a game well played.

P.S I was hoping the OP was gonna say he was either the 4th or 5th grader, because a 9 year old who can't write h's doesn't have a mental disorder he has a learning disorder and we should all laugh at him.

In all seriousness though, scamming is like anything else in this game.

You make a bad trade you learn and try not to repeat the mistake.

You enter combat and get blown up, you again try not to repeat the mistake.

You get scammed, you learn something and try not to repeat the mistake.

Let the people learn from their mistakes and improve, just like every other part of this game.

yes...I agree with the fact that people learn from their mistakes and improve...and that it is a part of the game. I also believe that some of the individuals that have been scammed could benefit from some support...maybe they would quit eve from the experience ...perhaps by gaining a sense or knowledge that people have the right to scam them in game and there are things to look for to prevent it in the future (In addition to perhaps get over their recent loss of isk).

Not all people "just learn from their mistakes and move on" ...and please don't quote this to amuse yourself with your own comments like..."yeah, it's because they are just plain stupid"..Please inflate your ego elsewhere.

Measuring intelligence by these factors is ignorant...it's part of my point.

Why are you making up quotes in your response to me?

You then tell me to inflate my ego elsewhere, to something I had not even said.

****I never said anything negative about the people who get scammed, I merely commented that people make mistakes and learn from them.**** I also never measured anyone's intelligence.

You strike me as a person with a massive "holier then thou" attitude. You have gained my complete disrespect on many levels. Good luck in life telling people what they need and then speaking for them.

yes i can see how that looked after reading it a second time...I apologize if you thought it was directed at you...I have had quite a bit of people making comments like that and wanted to avoid it.
