Nope.

"A grief player, or "griefer," is a player who devotes much of his time to making others’ lives miserable, in a large part deriving his enjoyment of the game from these activities while he does not profit from it in any way" - from the support page. I have seen numerous cases of bumpers being threatened with bans/banned for this.

So, considering we are discussing DEVs here, not players, this definition is completly irrelevant Twisted. At the same time I wouldnt consider a 'bot' as a player either.

That CCP encourages this behavior, even that its a bot, annoys me to no end. ******* ban the idiot, do it right, have some sense in the thing and be professional about it. But to psuedoly encourage more such activities by the player base in emulation isnt what the employees of a company should be doing.

Thats one of the things so far with Screegs, he may be an ex goon, this, that and the other thing, but hes acted and shown professionalism in his actions and performance as a CCP employed bot hunter.

So yeah... dont **** around with it, if theyre breaking the rules ban them, if theyre not dont play "**** ****" games that remind me of station hugging and other silly annoying childish mechanics than doing a job.

Will this be disliked? Yup. But thats why Im posting it. Its the truth.

You sir, are no fun at all.

And as said before, it's not the truth, it's merely your opinion. My opinion and that of many others here is: CCP still has the best devs and GMs! Keep doing the funny stuff! Cool

Unfortunately there is no dislike button here.

Personally, I would much rather have a dev that has fun with their job and is willing to connect with the community over promoting a "professional" culture.

Considering the "professional" game development companies out there, the lack of imagination behind the products that they produce, and the disregard that they have for their playerbase, it's refreshing to see devs step out from behind the curtain and share something with the community that they personally found amusing/interesting.

You remind me of the Pointy Haired Boss in Dilbert: "having fun at work is like stealing from the company". I wish you the illest of luck in your campaign to restrict all employees into being humorless Corp-Speak zombies. May failure attend your every effort!

What happend to make you such an unhappy, joyless person? Wouldn't it be more constructive to talk about your issues, maybe with a therapist, and make yourself happier rather than doing your best to stop anyone else have a little fun while doing their job?

They put up a half-assed POS installation, so we bashed it until they left. They left a Customs Tower behind, which we would've left alone,* except they got stupid and set tax rate to 100% - we're wrecking that, too.

Now I'm sorry we allowed them to evacuate in an orderly fashion.

*If they'd left the tax rate at a some rather low value, it wouldn't have been worth our time to mess with it, and they'd have made some low value of passive ISK forever. But 100%..?! That's BEGGING for a wrecking crew.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Truth and opinion are very different things sir. Sit down before you hurt yourself flailing around with that sword of righteousness. You think they should be cold, professional, efficient, fair enough, that's what you want from CCP. You are entitled to your opinion. But look at the situation from my point of view; as far as I am concerned what they've done here is draw attention to a botter, focus our attention on the negative backlash and public humiliation that will befall culprits and, I would imagine, re-enforced the negative consequences associated with botting in the minds of many people. I'm not saying it will have worked, or that it will be a wildly successful move, maybe publicly humiliating botters will encourage people to do it for attention, who knows, but it's still a viable, intelligent way of dealing with the problem, albeit one that doesn't sit well with your personal opinion of what CCP should do.

So before you start passing off your views as universal truths, stop and think that what you feel in your gut, isn't always 'right' and that perspective alters everything

Actually, though your trying to simply draw an argument out of it, it is in fact the truth. Irregardless of your own opinions on it. Emulation and mimicry is how humanity does most things when it comes to learning. And that emulation of authority figures is paramount, even those who try to not emulate parental authority figures in life most often end up like them anyway. What they do others WILL do. I dare you to get everyone in Eve to not do this to prove me wrong. I dare you.

You arent drawing attention to it nor are you doing anything other than encouraging naming and shaming, something that even CCP in the antiboting threadnaught from a few months ago said wasnt going to happen. Thread link here https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=87030

But hey. Time changes everything right?

And for my sword of righteousness Ill wave it just like you apparently have and insinuated just how "right" you are over me, or maybe it was just you stating your opinion.... sometimes its hard to tell the difference where opinion and "right" begin and end isnt there. Subjectivity... its a *****.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.
