Is carebearing finally dying?

My main character has been continuously active in EVE since May 2003, though now I am now just an occasional player based in hi-sec.

My motivation to continue playing the game is finally dwindling. Mostly because hi-sec activities seem to be getting less and less rewarding, both in terms of interest and revenue earnings. And I haven't enjoyed null-play since sov came to dominate activities there.

So it is starting to feel like the end of an era for me, increasingly I've been playing EVE for old times sake, rather than the thrill of the moment.

Just saying.

And no, I'm not giving away my stuffs in case CCP finally realise where they make their money in this game, and fix things for the occasional player/solo pilot/carebear. There's rather a lot of us paying our monthly subs just like everyone else, even though we're offline most of the time.

Hisec needs to be lower reward due to its lower risk and dont even start on how risky hisec is, that has been done to death.

If you are unhappy with how hisec is, try something else.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Since your are a old player you should already realized that this is a Massive Multiplayer Online Game, therefore it's developed for group play and promotes interaction with every player. Dont expect to see solo play rewarded, still, you can choose play alone as you like but dont demand CCP to improve that type of play.

Try X3-Terran Conflict or something similar.

Well, considering how empty lowsec is for the moment its a miracle people go there more often, I do understand people think the honorable 5 t3 2 Orca gatecamps are a pain, but once you evade them its much more fun.

Oh, and you can earn 3 ok ships to fly in lowsec with with just a few hours of mining. I think thats a fair income in highsec.

I'm cool with taking the well trodden path of departing bitter vets, I knew it would finally come one day! Doesn't stop me from feeling sad about it though... just because someone doesn't realise that 'balancing' is not just a one-way activity.

It would be wonderul if they added new PVE content, but the carebearing part of the game is hardly dying. Though the forum fighters sure are trying their best to kill it.

There is more to EVE than highsec and nullsec.

If you want to get fat off ISK, but don't want to fall asleep at your keyboard in highsec, just try wormholes.

Less rewarding revenue earnings hunh? Shocked

- Think you shouldn't play for isk, that would take a lot of unfun away.
- I played 10-14 days, made enough for a plex and a month of POS fuel.

Maybe, just maybe you are doing it wrong?

I think they meant many players - who don't play much - but stay subbed.

its simple logic. High sec dwellers have nothign to do but make more money. They do not have sinks on their little world. In fact most of them try to pay the game with plex they buy with the arning of their missions. But someoen must be paying CCP for those plexes and putting them in market? You really think many high se carebears are the ones gettig nthe shortcut to isk? WHen all that they have to do in game is exaclty making is? No.. the main source of plex are 0.0 and low sec players that pay from their wallet so they do not need to do dumb isk grinding.

That can easily make 0.0 players on average pay WAY more to CCP than the average high sec guy.
