But seriously, it is a bit lax, a bit of standardisation wouldn't hurt.

This is just a guess, but I wager they do not write their code in MS Word, nor do they use their code to upload word documents to fill in ship descriptions.

As for why it bugs you, no idea, why?

Yes, I realise MS Word is most likely not used to make the ships descriptions. I simply wanted a catchy title so people would come in and support my cause.

As for why it bugs me, I guess I like when things are in order.

I would literally go and rewrite every single item's description by hand if it could somehow get to CCP and fix them, that's how much. Not even kidding.

Yeah as a SW dev myself I'm kinda OCD about these things...

It has always bugged me a bit as well. Specially when they introduced tier 3 BC and yet another new format to descriptions and the addition of hyperlinks.

Yeah they should hire more minorities in different countries to go back and fix those issues. But seriously they were all written at different times, and it would be a waste of time and resources to fix those. Or at least update superficial things everytime something is released.

it's seriously embarrassing how bad the item information is in this game after all these years.

The worst offenders IMO are the "-5% bonus"es and "10% penalty to reduction"s in various skill and item descriptions. If I didn't know what each of them does already, I would be pretty confused trying to figure it out.

What's wrong with "To missile explosion radius: -5%"?
