Jump Clone Clarification

Lets say:

I am in my jump clone and i get podded, i go to my Medical Clone. Is that jump clone gone? So, I have to keep getting Jump Clones? I think I just answered my own question there....lol.

I know it might be obvious to someone. I just don't know if when you get a jump clone, it's always with you somehow.

If I don't know, I ask. That's how we learn. Be nice.

Thanks

The only way to lose a jump clone is for you to destroy it, usually on purpose, though it can be done accidentally if you aren't careful. As I recall if you get podded in a jump clone it should still be at the station you last docked at, you can check by looking at the list of jump clones on your character sheet.

After become podded, your Jump Clone float dead in space as Frozen Corps. You're not able to use it anymore.

Check your list of jump clones on the character sheet and find out

No, I didn't get podded. It was a hypothetical to understand the mechanics of Jump Clones.

Sorry, I didn't clarify that.

Podded while in a JC that JC is destroyed (and any implants contained therein). You wake up in a med clone, NOT another JC. Why do you think people PVP in JCs without implants (for the most part)?

You are in your "main" body (which we'll call "A"). It has a ton of expensive implants.

You have 5 JCs because you have Infomorph Psychology trained to V (which we'll call "B", "C", "D", "E", and "F").

You jump out of "A" into "C" (which has only +3 implants) because you want to travel quickly and not risk the expensive implants in "A".

"C" is now your active body, and A, B, D, E, and F are jump clones. "A" still has a head full of expensive implants.

You get podded while in "C". You have lost the +3 implants in "C".

You wake up in whatever station you had set for your medical clone in a new, implantless body which can be called "C2".

You still have A, B, D, E, and F scattered throughout the galaxy.

You can clone jump (provided the 24 hour timer allows it) back into "A" and your expensive implants will still be intact, the only implants you lost were the +3 implants from the original "C" clone.

Just don't EVER jump into a jumpclone that's at the same station you're currently in. Cloneception will occur and bad things can happen.

This is exactly right except with the same station part.

It's perfectly fine to switch jump to a Jump Clone that's in the same station as you, since that leaves only one unihabited clone there. If you jump to a clone in a different station while you're in a station with an installed Jump Clone, you'll get a warning message and your installed jump clone (not the clone you're jumping from) will be destroyed if you complete the jump.

It's important to keep MEDICAL CLONES and JUMP CLONES separate in your brain. If you get podded, whether in regular clone (med clone) or a JC, you will ALWAYS land in a med clone (not a JC). Fancy multiple examples aside, remember this and you're fine. Just like with a med clone, if you get podded while in a JC you lose implants. Period.

I do understand the different between the two. I just didn't know about if Jump Clones stay with you somehow. (Mechanics again).

Thanks again.

You always wake up in your empty, un-upgraded Med Clone. Think of your Jump Clones as just teleport spots with Implant suites.

People do this all the time. The only thing you shouldn't do in this case is create a jump clone in a station where you have a preexisting jump clone.

Thanks. I knew there was some issue with multiple JCs in the same station.

Which implants get figured into your training times then ?

The current jump clone implants your using or the medical clone.

You can't be in your medclone ever. It's your backup and when you die, your medclone becomes your active one.
