0.0 Blood Raider Ratting ship?

So I'm looking for a ship that can run some of the easier anoms solo, or clear radar/mag sites in 0.0 Blood Raider space, but that I can also use for my alliance's gangs, which tend to like BC and HAC sized ships for roams. (Yes, this is an alt) I was thinking of the Vagabond, since it had great base EM and thermal resists for the rats, good dps (for its size) great speed, and general availability. I know many consider the cynabal to be superior, but it doesn't have the great T2 resists that the Vaga does. While I currently only have Minmatar Cruiser 5, I will train the others eventually, and sooner if a better candidate emerges.

So please, suggestions, thoughts and comments are welcome, as well as fits. My preference would be for a smaller ship, but if a battleship does this so much better, I would definitely consider it.

A BS would be the go, especially if u have an active alt there to feed u cap and reps?

Hmm.. a shield tanked Pest may work, 4 Gyro stabs and 2 TEs in the lows, 2 EM hardeners, 1 therm, 1 invuln and a MWD, and 6 800 ACs? Would want shield extender rigs. Load up with EMP ammo and off you go.

Just get the alt to feed u shields from an Osprey, a bit of cap as well and you'd be able to take on a sanctum

I hadn't thought about using an alt to keep my main alive. This alt is only good for trading really, I will definitely think about getting a RR/cap alt. Only problem is that my alliance tends to run armor BS fleets, which I largely ignore since my armor skills are lackluster. Is there any reason a Vaga WOULDN'T work?

t2 minmitar ships have absurd resist to EM/thermal damage, and guns dont use cap so the neuts wont be so bad.
so, vagabond?

A sleipnir would have the same resist/capless weapon advantage, but would deal out considerably more raw DPS, which would increase your ISK/hr.

Confirming that Sleipnir is perfect. Also confirming I rat in the same space you do, so I hope we're in the same alliance :P

I have a cap stable shield-boosting Sleipnir that can clear Sanctums and belts easily. You have to be careful on the third wave of the Sanctum as that's when the neuting rats spawn, but other than that you generally never have to worry about dying. Plus it has fantastic dps with autocannons (which have you flying so close that the BS rats can't hit you anyways).

That said, I'd stay clear of Havens and Hubs until you get a good feel for the ship. So many little ships spawn in them that you're in very real danger of losing your ship. The frigs, cruisers, and battlecruisers not only have a much easier time hitting you, they also neut/web/tracking disrupt you so that the big ships can hit you easier.

Alright then, sounds like I will use the Vagabond during the long train for the sleipnir. Thank you all for your help!
