The "All Time" section goes back to 2006. You're reading it backwards.

Also, summer.

Game has been around since 2003. Grats on your forum loss.

Unfortunately for my Eve play time, I have discovered the joys of ARMA II.

No, EVE is in far far better shape than many other MMOs, a lot of them new. WoW has bled what? a million subs in the last year? STO forced to go FTP after its numbers collapsed, TOR bleeding subs at a shocking rate.

Compared to all of these EVE is positivly thriving.

More of the same "CCP isn't doing what I think they should and LOOK At THAT, the game is dying". It's like they WANT the game to die to both prove to themselves they aren't crazy and so CCP will bow to their demands. High Sec miners, im talkin to you lol.

The truth is that given all the internal and external factors involved (summer, the economy, the age of the game), EVE seems pretty damn healthy to me.

What part of "Subscriptions numbers have steadily risen every year for the last 9 years" are you having difficulty understanding?

I have little doubt that eventually we will see a year here and there where the sub numbers take a dip, hell it could even be this year, but the graphs you keep referring to have nothing to do with subscription numbers.

Grats on YOUR forum loss.

Regardless of how long the game has been out this graph only goes back to 2006 like Abdiel Kavash said.

Far cry from the few months you claimed it to be showing.

If you liked playing as a werewolf, want the addition of dragonbone weapons, the ability to make arrows of all types, the return of the crossbow (still limited to only steel and dwarven), or an expansion focusing on vampires, yes.

I've,played through the main plot on one side (similar to imperials or stormcloaks in that you do pick a side). I do plan to try the other side soon, but that will be more of load an old save, blitz, then go back to my 1st play through. Still, I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it.

Yes, 9 years over due apparently. Smile

EvE's the Third Largest Paid Western MMO on the market*. Claims of it being a niche game because the 2 market leaders are anomalous are ridiculous.

Of course EvE can't afford a million subscription losses (it happens to be impossible for EvE to lose a million subs atm). But the Summer of Rage cost it 20-50k Subs, and it's recovering pretty nicely.

(Actually, WoW has lost 2 million subs from it's peak at 12 million, and SWOTOR's down at ~1.5m from it's ~1.7m peak)

*WoW and SWOTOR are the only ones bigger. The Korean MMO Aion is also bigger, but that's a very different market. Second Life and Runescape are also bigger, but they're FTP, so the comparison's not particularly valid.

While I do believe that there will have been a drop in subs due to recent events, let me just say that I hope EVE goes for another 10 years or more. Hoping it fails to prove a point is a tad reta*ded imho.

First I love this game and have been playing longer than most. I try to read the forums every other day to keep up with what players are thinking. Everyone says Eve is growing and I would like to believe Eve will be around at least another 10 years. BUT, a chart tracking the all time daily average number of players on the Tranquility server shows a steady decline which alarms me. Please explain how there is growth when fewer characters play daily than ever before? As of this posting, the referenced chart was updated 34 minutes ago. http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility

Never ceases to amaze me how people stoutly believe that number of players online is related to number of accounts subscribed.

It never ceases to amaze me how people like you think that has any relevance.

If no one is playing, then no one is playing. Something is wrong with the game. Just because they haven't run out their subs/remaining PLEXes yet is irrelevant. Kinda hard to have fun in an MMO that everyone has stopped logging in to.

Mr Epeen Cool

Not playing isn't relevant to not paying.

Trial accounts are not subscriptions, not sure where you got that idea from. If you can't wait for the game to expire, why don't you leave & let it expire in your small mind?
