You're doing it wrong:

Even though the Drake has a Kinetic bonus, there are rats better handled with Mjolir missiles.

Missiles support skills
Battlecruiser skills
Faction Ammo

Had little problems removing Bs from grid

3 evenings you got it back in money, 2 weeks and you can buy something better, and refit the drake for something else.

yeah there are far better options but not for less than 100 mil ISK

Haven't tested this, but my gut instinct is that so long as you're not yellow-boxed, you can go ahead and cloak (same principle with your drones doing their own thing even if you get jammed out, I suspect). I may have to roll out a Myrm with a cloak in one of the highs to check. Will update if I find out anything.

If you ratting in Guristas space and want cheap modify the first setup for kin /thermic tank and to fire scourge missiles.


One further option if you want / can do this...

There might already be people that run anoms in your sov space. Work up a deal and either join them, OR offer to salvage their completed anoms for a % of the isk. It doesnt take long and can be quite lucrative.

Let me summarize:

Best belt ratting ships: T3 battlecruisers - Cheap, effective. Nuff said.
Best throw-away ship for exploration: Drake
Best all-around agile exploration ships: Tengu, Ishtar

Sure, other ships may also work, or be more efficient - but they'll either be slow (gank targets), have trouble dealing with huge amounts of frigates (Raven), or expensive (Machariel).

The Tengu has the added advantage of being able to fit cloaky interdiction nullified - which makes you practically immune to gate camps, allowing you to do fly around for escalations with relative ease, while being able to fit enough tank and capacitor regeneration to tank the most difficult sites - and still keep a respectable DPS, most of which can easily be applied to all those pesky frigates.
