After restarting my computer today, when I tried to run the launcher I received the Launcher exception message. I have tried to run the repair tool a few times now with no success. I can bypass the launcher and run eve, however it is inconvenient and I would like the launcher to work properly.

TypeError: string indices must be integers, not str
Locals by frame, innermost last:

The above is the top part of the message I recieved. is there anything I can do to fix this or will it fix itself after the next DT?

Any Help Appreciated

EDIT: I tried to insert some of the text displayed in the error but the forum wouldn't let me saying I couldnt have HTML in the post. *shrugs*

Could you put the exception onto Pastebin?

For me, it patches fine, then I click the Play button and nothing. EveFile doesn't launch at all from the launcher, but works just fine if I start it directly. (Logged a bug as another character from one of my other accounts.)

Tactical destroyers... I'll take a dozen Gallente, please.

It looks like it's because you're behind some form of proxy: "Please wait while you are redirected to the iiNet customer service portal" shows up in the logs as the contents of the info file we're getting from the game webservers, which is not what it should contain.

The file it's querying is located at http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt and this file is cached to disk, in the launcher\cache\win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt file. If you delete the file, it will be forced to redownload it, updating the file.

If you're still behind the proxy or whatever it appears to be you'll still get this issue though. If you can try to determine why you're running into the iiNet redirect that could identify the root cause.

well deleting that file stopped the exception and it has started DLing the patch. I will post here if the problem persists. I did have a problem with my router at the same time and the settings reset. it is more than likely related.

It was in English, but you'll have to learn it first.

BTW, the easiest way I have found to fix launcher issues is to rename the "launcher" directory and run repair.exe. This will reinstall the whole launcher, which is quite small and will only take a few minutes.
