I was scammed because I bought 2 compressed ice blocks and the market order I was selling to was removed right after I bought... Does anyone want 2 compressed ice blocks for 500 million ISK each?

Please, help. It is 70 mill below market price... Cry

No, I'm not asking for free money. I'm trying to sell what I gained from being scammed. The sell and buy orders for this in my region are 570 mill each.

Compressed ice is on the market for around 300k-400k (roughly) range.

Looks like you are the victim of a margin trade, where an alt using the margin trade skill is able to create a massively overpriced buy order for an item without fronting the cash.

The item in question is usually a rare or extremely low trade volume item such as compressed ice.

Another character will then create a sell order for the goods in the same region well above normal levels but also below the buy order value.

You the unsuspecting trader come along and see a quick buck to be made by buying the overpriced item (in your case a 500M ice block) in one station and moving it a couple of jumps to fullfill the buy order, only for the buy order to fail because the person who created it does not have the isk in his account to pay for the item. His character gets fined 10% of the item value but thats okay becuse it's an alt he can throw away. So you are left with a worthless ice block and he is up 500M.

Presonally I think this skill should be removed from game, this scam stinks but it can be spotted. Use Eve-Central.com or another similar tool to check regional prices before purchasing an item where you are unsure of its value.
