Every corp worth joining.

Official Recruiter for GoonSwarm Corporation.

If you paid isk to get into GoonSwarm, you were probably scammed.  If you had the foresight to save the name of your scammer, let me know and I'll do what I can to help you.

Generally speaking, if it seems too good to be true, it is, and if it seems like a huge pain in the ass, it's working as intended. Fortunately for your wallet, this not the case. You'd be better off spending that ISK on suicide catalysts and pointing them all at this corp's assets, in my opinion.

Beat me to it. Well anyway do this just to see their reaction, preferably on teamspeak so you can hear them go WTF.

Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you.

Security deposits are spaceship speak for separating idiots and their money.

Only good corps ask for deposits, and by good I mean either scamming you or terrible and can't properly background check / manage new member recruitment in a way that prevents / reduces the impact of spies

What kind of corp would ask for this as a condition of you joining?

I recently applied to a corporation and they asked me for this stating that I was a former member of an opposing coalition 2 years ago for 3 months. Does this make sense to anyone except as a way to rip someone off?

Goons would. and tell you all the time iit was standard procedure.
