A: Generally, copy the name of the "recruiter" into a reply to this thread and tell them to go outside. If you want to have a laugh though and troll them, and hopefully see more "recruitment officers", create an API key and select your noob/Jita alt in the "Characters" dialog box (make sure that alt has less than 10M in ISK on balance). Check everything except mail and transaction/wallet journal history. This will seriously screw up their system and give you a good laugh in the chat room.

Q: I am asked to pay a security deposit. Is this legit?
A: No.

Q: Will CCP/FBI/CIA/MI-6/MOSSAD/FSB/KGB protect me from the Goon Scam?
A: No.

Last but not least: If any of the above has happened to you, please do everyone a favor and post the name(s) of the "recruiters" in this thread. The goal of this thread is to create a list of every single Goonswarm member and their alts in one single epic thread! The thread has just started and let's make sure it doesn't die!

Yes for some reason I used to think goons were great and honerable corp/alliance so I really wanted to join. Now that InternetSpaceship has taken isk twice I know this is not the case. I accept that i'm out this isk and can only hope to help OP in spreading message that this recruiter is a crook!


Check your wallet to see who you sent it too? could actually be proof either way..

Nah seriously, if you've been scammed, you deserved it. End of the line here buds. It doesn't take half a brain here to realise that. And btw, thanks for making an idiot out of yourself in front of the whole forum, we deeply appreciate it. Otherwise I'll refrain from commenting on the recruitment practices of Goonswarm as I am not privy as to how they operate. But yea, they certainly must not be scamming everyone if they are that numerous.

Perhaps I should, as recruitment officer for my corporation offer you a 250 mil deal to join SRS, It should ease your mind after having been refused by goonswarm. I deeply feel sorry for your losses. I'm sure we can both get a severely one way business agreement for this.

Anyhow, I could use the money.

Nah, she didn't send me ****, some other goon must have pissed her off somehow, so she's just in here lying to try and get credibility. Well, that or she's talking to someone reading this thread and pretending to be me, and she was really stupid enough to give them isk. I'd really like to see the wallet transaction. Not that it matters, this thread has been great for my recruitment numbers.

Mind you, these are people who can both read and ask intelligent questions, so most have actually gotten in.

I don't get why some people seem to have problems with the recruitment process. I got in without any problems, and got my deposit back with interest. It took a couple weeks (GIA is *very* thorough), but now I'm all set up in Deklein. It's been great - I was about to quit the game out of boredom before I was lucky enough to get into GSF...

Some people haven't mastered the demanding skills of googling a corp and carefully reading and following instructions.

Those people start threads on EVE-O about how all goons are scammers. It is a similar phenomena to the ones who get their **** blown up in war and post about how goons are just the worst scrubs at Eve, and only win all the time because BLOB WARFARE.

Also, we're terrible scammers, but we're also fantastic scammers who make all our money scamming, and tech moon botting.

Same story since 2003, some people just can't stand not being on the "winning" team.

Honestly, Alice, none of what you posted has sufficient credibility to be taken as such. All I see in there is hearsay from someone posting with an alt. I don't see any "witness" account, no screenshots and absolutely no corroboration.

You basically only threw names and said they were scammers. This is especially true reguarding Internetspaceship scamming accusation made by a random pubbie that nobody can corroborate.

Basically, your testimonies are weak at best.

If that means you're actually going to start posting evidence and actually researching and backing up claims, that'll be great. Also, the phrase would be "less smart", not "less smarter". That was sadly ironic, though.

Do you really think you're the first person to assemble some list of "scammers" in Eve? Or do you think you'll be the first anyone listens to? If so, you really should start acting in a more mature fashion and proving to us that you can be trusted, and aren't just tossing up random names to some nebulous list.

Of course, I'll most definately be a Goon alt in SRS for this guy's eyes. It's how it is. I mean, goons are everywhere. She's gonna be right, damn, I admit. But at the same time, goons are totally irrelevant and ineffective these days. That's why we need callout threads in C&P from people too scared of us to tell us their main.

It's loud and clear, we are seeing it as of now. But I gotta say, posting with an alt makes you a coward in my book. And EVE is not a place for cowards. So, might as well not give them any kind of credibility for being cowards.
