Hi there,

I am a returning player. I tested Eve Online 2 years ago and decided to come back after taking a CCP offer.

However, I have since moved from a PC to a Mac.

So I downloaded the client, installed it and logged on. After a few minutes, the game would freeze. (you can also hear the last bit of sound looping)

Anyone can help me with this?

It kinda sucks, wanting to return to a game, paying for a subscription and not being able to play.

And for those who would suggest Bootcamp, no way! No more Windows for me.

Thanks for your help

It is much-hated bug that was introduced with Crucible. No real word on it from CCP; most are speculating it's a memory leak somewhere.

For most players, it comes and goes. Sometimes you'll have five crashes in half an hour, sometimes you'll go an entire week without any crashes at all.

There is, unfortunately, no real fix for it at the moment other than "the more RAM you have, the less likely you are to crash." Turing down memory-intensive graphic settings may also help.

Welcome to the Mac client!

The other thing that many have reported triggers the crashes is any app that accesses the internet. Turn off all things like torrents and even close web browsers. Edit: PC users have the same bug.

Same here, it just keeps on freezing.

It makes the game pretty much unplayable. For some reason, it doesn't seem to happen on my old Macbook but happens very often on my iMac.

I have discovered the reason why.

It is indeed a memory issue. It seems that EVE uses all the memory on my iMac, it runs up to 3BG of RAM.

The solution, I insalled an app that manages memory realtime, it dumps whatever is unnecessary in the system. SInce I have done this, no issues at all.

And which app would this be exactly? I'd love to know since I'm tearing my hair out over the constant freezes right now.

Thanks in advance.

I hope it helps!
