Help with the DSP exploration guide please

I'm trying my hand at exploration. I have Astrometrics V, decent skills (10.70 DSP sensor strength) and have read the DSP exploration guide (http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/dsp/). I'm scanning in the outer band of the DSP set to 256 AU.

However the signal strengths that the guide predicts don't match up to what I'm seeing in game. In highsec I'm seeing a lot of 0.12% signal results whereas the guide tells me that only 0.10% and 0.14% should exist.

Something the guide doesn't mention is that signal strengths will vary depending on the distance of the DSP probe (even when staying within the outer band).

for example, when keeping planet clusters as close to the middle of the outer band as possible I'd get 0.12%, 0.12%, 0.06% and 0.03%. Moving them to the outer edge will give me 0.10%, 0.09%,0.05% and 0.02% hits on the exact same sites.

Any tips?

Rounding errors and deviations. Depends on dps placement, system radius and signature distance.

For 11.4 dps strength ( mine ) :

0.02 - 0.03 can be 0.02 OR 0.03 ( those two are just too close )
0.05 - 0.07 will be 0.06
0.08 - 0.10 can be 0.09 or 0.11 ( those two are just too close )
0.11 - 0.12 will be 0.11
0.14 - 0.16 will be 0.15
0.21 - 0.23 will be 0.22
0.44 - 0.46 will be 0.45

Generally speaking : add/substract 0.01 from dps standards. Usually works but sometimes you can get stronger deviations ( happens rarely ).
