I was considering trying FW but I cant find a decent guide about how it works these days. Can anyone please give me a break down of how it works and answer the following questions:

Can I be attacked any where?

Is there a preferred ship class/size?

Do I need to join an FW corp?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated. I know so little about it that I probably dont even know what questions to ask.

All Trolling aside, Your best bet is to join a corp and learn that way. Trying to figure out FW solo can just annoy you. Much better to join a corp and get the run down while roaming in a fleet.

If you want to go it alone, then like most things, best way to learn is to trot over to the deep end and embrace the sinking feeling for all its worth. If you live congrats. If not well, its a game so try again. Lessons in eve might not be free, cause the best ones come from dying, but they sure as **** are/can be fun.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

The preferred ship class/size is usually frig/destroyer in the beginning to get used to it, then whatever your corp wants.

Minor complexes allow destroyer hull size and below. T2 ships cannot enter, however faction ships can enter.

Until you get into a corporation, use T1 frig hulls or at most destroyers to minimize the i s k loss.

And like previously stated by sYnc Vir, joining a corp is a good idea. Eve is a m m o after all, you 'll find it to be an easier time and more fun.

Overview settings are important. I recommend that you find one set for faction warfare. I believe eve university has a guide, make sure that you have fw allies above pirates to prevent shooting allies.

Make sure your stuff is out of hostile areas before joining. If you join Caldari or Amarr, move all the stuff outside of Gallente and Minmatar space and vice versa.

Train a hauling alt on the same account in case you have to visit market hubs. It only takes a couple of days, or purchase your ships in the hub and have red frog deliver it to you in high sec, or black frog in low sec. However if you join a decent corp, they will help you move stuff from trade hubs and such.
