The Ads that play during ATX

horrible! I have to constantly sit through the same stupid ads about EA sports. I have missed more than one match due to the several ads I have to sit through constantly.

On top of that, the website keeps freezing during heavy load, causing me to have to reload the page and AGAIN have to sit through the same ads again. Terrible interface that appears to be designed around MAKING SURE you look at ads instead of making sure you get access to the content.

I feel like i've sat through more ads than watched matches this year. Whoever at CCP felt they were clever for 'partnering' with some ad marketing whore - you are not and I hope you get stuck in a wormhole with a set of slaves in your head.

Where are you located? I only get two ads, one for Ford CMAX and one for some instant coffee, they only play once, when I start the stream each day. It seems there are geographical differences.

try, firefox with adblock and there will be no commercials.
when i used IE there have also been more commercials than fights

If you find any misspelling or grammar errors, your allowed to keep them.

I am in the Boston area, and I get ads galore - video games mostly, but ads ads ads. I suppoe CCP is trying to maximize their bottom line. SHAME on you CCP. Shame shame shame. Hope it was worth it

Ads happen during the breaks between matches and when you reload the stream. To avoid having ads interrupt the stream you should not reload or change resolution during the matches.
If you are getting ads during the matches when you have not reloaded, it's because your stream has fallen behind. In that case it can be solved by reloading (using the reload button at the bottom left) during the breaks between matches.

Fozzie, I am afraid how you think the ads work and how they actually work are not the same. I have a very good internet connection (best you can buy in this area), so I don't see how my stream falls behind. Perhaps your ad server conveniently thinks I am behind in order to maximize their display? In anycase, why would a slow stream/internet cause more ads to play?!

Yes, I have to sit through 3-4 ads if I touch ANYTHING on the interface (resolution, reload, etc).. but I also sit through ads that appear to be strategically put in place (for example directly after a match ends, or about to begin).

Although I am not a CCP dev, I am intelligent enough to know that the ad serving system you've put in place this year is out of control, annoying and makes is obvious to me that its a priority over me watching the actual event.

Shame on you for either (a) not understanding the ads correctly before the event or (b) lying to me or yourself about how bad they are.

Get AdBlock addon for your web browser. It's completely free and you won't see ANY adds at all.

Try reloading the stream periodically (during the breaks between matches).

"Just stop complaining and install an ad blocker"

um... I was always one of those guys that viewing ads was a necessary evil to viewing 'free' content and was able to do that. I suppose in order to watch ATX, I will have to install an ad blocker to make sure I will be able to see all the matches (and perhaps avoid the annoyance that comes with watching the same commercial over and over).

OR

CCP can take accountability and fix this problem. I don't care if its their ads or the web hoster - THEY chose to host ATX with these people. And my guess is that PlayStation ads are no coincidence given the new expansion (whats it called again, Dust or something?"

Take responsibility CCP - you screwed up. Fix it. Thanks in advance.

This. Haven't seen any ads.

I don't know what this guy is yelling about. Maybe it's because he's running IE 6 or something as equally ********.

You've been told now several times where the fault lies.

Please, back away and start thinking.

I get ads for flights to the British channel islands; where is your tinfoil hat now?

How about a better quality stream. Their "HD" button is terrible.
