Buyorders in other regins, selling in Jita?

Greetings.

I've read quite a lot about trading lately. Guides, tips and general info. So far, I've never read about the option of placing buy orders in different regions, and then hauling stuff to Jita and selling it there. Personally, I've made many good deals this way.

But tt's always the other way around that seems to preferred in guides. Buy in Jita, sell elsewhere. So that makes me wonder, am I missing something here for doing it the other way around?

Try it, if you make money you're "doin' it right."

What often happens is that Jita is cheaper. It's the effect of volume. All those undercutters push prices down. But if you can pick up stuff cheap elsewhere Jita is a great place to offload.

When I was starting trading, I noticed that "quad lif" afterburner was regularly sold below jita-prices in certain region, so I made region-wide buy order and hauled them to Jita. I made 300 mil ISK per month doing that which was a lot for me at that time.

Nowadays I buy from jita and sell elsewhere since it works for items I'm trading in currently. So both can work, and as already said: If you are making ISK then you are doing it right.

You don't see it often because Jita tends to be cheaper. It can also be difficult to accumulate enough stock in some of the slower regions to make this worth it. There is often a reason a region has very few buy orders. Very few people are selling.

I've hauled loads of faction ammo from regions with lots of agents to Jita and sold them. I've also on very rare occasions bought up all the cheap stock of an item and dumped it on high buy orders in Jita (triple check for margin trading scams if there is only one buy order that is profitable.).

This ends up being one off trades for me. Usually I scored a really cheap stock or Jita buy orders are running abnormally high. I haven't located any items where I could do this consistently. It's a nice quick turnaround when you find it though.
