I am not connected to Gramps in anyway, I do not participate in his hustle etc.

But gotta say, Grampa Bill does it right. He hustles with fun. Makes me laugh. Makes a ton of people laugh. Grampa Bill is part of forum lore now.

So, he should become part of the EVE lore.

ITT: How to recognize, remember, and raise the flag of Grampa Bill.

Or am I just talking crazy?

Yeah, but be fair, he made some random guy (who no one has ever heard of) laugh, isn't his place in the hall of fame guaranteed?

I find it not only amusing, but nearly the only fun stuff that happens.

It used to be the goons were funny and entertaining, but Sov metagame is now Srs Bznz... we need more Grampa Bill, less epeen sov, carebears vs nullsex, highaids vs nullaids... etc.

Or shall we go back to the incredibly original vote for this avatar threads?

grampa bill is mediocre at best. backdoor bandit was way better and serious stuff like pottseys random jibberings of sleeper theories would be much more deserving of a hall of fame spot then your alt.... i mean grampa bill.

Because he makes me grin, but not in the sardonic, cynical, Schadenfreude-informed way that 99.999...9% of posters hereabouts do.

I remember the first time I read one of Grandpa Bill's (or G-Bill as I now know him) posts. It was mixed into a very serious discussion thread, as I started reading it I couldn't help but wonder who is this guy, is he really some old guy, is he really even a grandpa? I never got to know my Grandpas, unfortunately they had a little too much fun when they were young so they weren't around when I was a lil capsuleer. I'll tell you who was around, my mean cousin Rusty. Man that kid was mean. He was the stereotypical 80's bully, like something of a cross between Guns N Roses and the kid from the terminator (not the one that looks like the girl from twilight but the red headed one with the mullet). I think that was the same kid from that camp Anawanna show, the one who was obsessed with awful waffles. Man they kept that thing going throughout the entire show, but I don't think we ever did find out exactly what one was, sad really.

While I certainly agree that we should respect and hold our elders in high regard, I am not sure if Elder Bill has yet qualified for forum canonization. But given his advanced age, perhaps an exception can be made. Or maybe a tribute link on the People & Personalities section of the main page for all his years of inadvertant and obscure service to the community.

Let Caesar never forget, though he may rule with the authority of the gods, he is allowed to rule by the whim of the people.
