I think it would be cool if for the first week of next year tournament all teams used the same ship set up. Teams could submit set ups and team captains could vote. Maybe a few votes to narrow the selections down. I think would showcase the pilots skills more then ship setup vs ship setup. Then in the second weekend team could bring there own setups. This way you already have the better teams fighting the better teams, and team creativity would come into play.

After this years tournament I notice it was fun to watch how teams faired when they both brought the same setups. Thoughts, Ideas, Trolls.

After the first match, everyone would replicate the strategy of the winning team, and it would be repetition of the most boring possible match, ever.

Funnily enough, most of the pilots in the EVE Tournament are actually really experienced.

Sorry mate, not a good concept.

For next year it would be nice if the prequalifiers were 3 rounds instead of 2 so that the swiss tournament setup would actually make sense to use and teams would not get screwed over just by the luck of the draw.

2 and 3 wins out of 3 advance 1 and 0 wins do not. In case of a tie, points decide.

The current system utilizing the swiss system in a 2 match format is pretty damn horrible and results in a lot of good teams dropping out while a lot of weaker teams advance, due to matchmaking (this has been stated over and over again last year as well), but for some reason CCP still clings to a frankly sub-optimal setup.
