On the actual goon wiki, they clearly state that they don't recruit, and that their in-game recruiters are a scam. I may or may not agree with their scamming, but they do clearly warn against it. https://wiki.goonfleet.com/Joining_GoonWaffe_101

If some of their members choose to recruit-scam, then that reflects upon them as an individual. It doesn't really change how I'd receive any other person of the alliance.


They don't recruit people who already play Eve. They have a social life outside of the games they play. If someone leaves Goons to join a corp with no connection to the SA forums, something strange is going on. Ok so not everyone who lurks or posts on SA forums is in Goons and its possible that an SA forum member who joined Goons might decide they don't like Goons in space after all and want to move on.

But people must understand that the reason this person is playing Eve is because they came to it from SA forums; they did not start playing Eve and then discover SA forums and then join Goons.

If a goon is going to join your corp to destroy it / spy, he will be doing it on a neutral alt.

A massive bot armada would be a barely noticeable increase over the current tech bonanza and market manipulation.

Why exactly would they risk it?

Sure, theres probably a few goons who bot. But they are a minority, and the alliance itself does not condone it.

My w-space corp has seen an influx of former goon applicants. We're leery at best.

To answer your question: Yes. Yes I would, I allowed ex goons into my corp before my corp were ever in the CFC and if we ever arnt in the CFC I will take every application in the spirit it is offered. Do you understand why? Because that is how Eve works, one day you are friends, the next enemies, and then friends again because it is a game about warfare and diplomacy. If you cant get your head around this fact then you need to play a different game.

Everyone in Eve is equal. You, Me, the miners and the gankers, the nullsec pvpers and the hisec traders. All of us are people behind a keyboard enjoying the game in whatever way we please at whatever time you find us. The ONLY difference is who you get involved with, what you believe and how you act.


Now, on to your actual post. Obviously you dont actually know alot about Eve politics or players. First off, bots dont make enough isk to supply 9000 people with ships unless half of them are bots and each bot supplies a players ships. So assuming you are right, there would be 4500 bots in GSF alone. The isk is made by the alliance using moons, reactions, taxes and so on, all the things that are available to every Eve organisation. To believe anything else is the greatest display of naivety.
