I've tried this before with little luck in anomalies. But it's been a long time since I've tried this and I was wondering, is there's a way to increase your chances of finding faction rats in highsec anomalies/asteroid belts? I'm short on isk and don't have a good way to make money other than this without hurting my faction standings.

hisec anoms are a waste of time. i've been doing them out of boredom for a while and i estimate the chance of a faction spawn and/or escalation to be ~2-5%. if you are short on cash, buy a probe launcher and scan some sigs or at least camp some DED lpexes but don't waste your time on anoms, especially not the drone ones.

I should buy an Ishtar.

anoms are fine, you blitz them so fast, i find the spawn chance to be more like 20%

anoms are fine, you blitz them so fast, i find the spawn chance to be more like 20%

consider the align and warp time. the less time you spend shooting the more you fall behind in ISK/hour. also, the faction spawns drop useless ammo more often than not

I've found that the Hideaway and Burrow anomalies seem to spawn Pirate Faction Commander NPC's quite often. Those sites can be completed very quickly. The Commander NPC's have a small chance to drop more than just Faction munitions and Pirate Dog Tag, such as Low Grade implants that are worth lot's of isk. Can also usually get T2 salvage from the Commander wrecks.

Course the best chance of getting Pirate Faction loot is from completing the various 'Unknown' Cosmic Signatures - Pirate combat sites - found through exploration by scanning.

I messed around with highsec anoms a few weeks ago, just for something to do while surfing the web.

I was running them in a cane and clearing them very fast. Still, the align time and warp eats a lot, as does finding a system with a good size stack. There are systems with 10-20 pirate sites and same number of drone sites out there though. In about 20 hours I found 7 npc faction spawns, mostly frigs, but a few dessys. They tend to drop ammo and tag on every wreck, and sometimes a mod. I found 2 true sansha energized membranes, and a "dark blood medium pluse laser".

I would estimate something like 2m max on bounties per hour, and about the same in salvage/loot, excluding faction spawns.

Really, if you can run level 3s instead.

i found it much more on par with lvl 4's if not a little higher between 4/10 escalations and the 100ish lg implants i get a month

How often do you get escalations and how many hours do you do per day/week/month? I really have no clue as to how often sites escalate. I estimate I ran over a hundred and fifty sites.

I should try and get a larger sample size.
