Whats better for a raven for level 4s?

I would like to know if active or passive tanking would be better

also if possible you could provide some fits also lol as i got no clue on how to passive :P

Active all the way, Raven is very poor for passive tank, it's totally different to how a Drake works.

Standard L4 Raven fit off top of myhead is something like this;

Lows
4 x BCU II
1 x Co Processor II if fitting is an issue, if not put a Signal Amplifier to boost range/scanres and extra target locks. If you fighting Gurstias and gettign jammed alot can use a Gravimetric Backup array.

Mids
1 x XL Shield Booster II
1 x Heavy Cap Booster II using Cap Booster 800's
3 x Rat Specific Hardeners
1 x Meta4 Target Painter

High
6 x Cruise Missile II Fury ammo
1x optional Small tractor beam or drone link augmentor to increase drone range

Rigs
3 x Large Rigors I

5 x Hobgoblin II
5 x Hammerhead II

Replace Tech II's with Meta4 if skills/fitting is an issue.

surprisingly i have most of those mods so ill try it in a few mins. I'm also guessing pulsing is my best friend?

This is completely true. You can, just about, passive tank a Raven, but you have to pretty much neuter its damage dealing capability. If you can master the complexities of switiching a shield booster on and off again, then you'll be flying a far superior ship.

Yep. Keep your shield at about ~90% until your cap is at around ~35%. Then maintain your cap at about that level until your shield drops to the 30% mark. If your cap and shield are both down to the 30% mark and you're down to your last cap booster charge, and you're still taking heavy damage, then start preparing to warp out - but this will be a rare occasion if you have 4 BCUs and T2 drones.

the only battleship hull that can fit a good passive shield tank is the rattlesnake. with all other battleships you want an active tank for missions.

well I'm in pressed with this raven setup ^.^

my old raven was active but was filled with cap rechargers n such so i took like 50mins to do a mission im done in 20 with this one :P

just a question about the rigs.. what do they do?

They reduce the explosion radius of the missiles allowing them to do more damage to small targets. I would also suggest having Guided Missile Precision at 4 and getting it to 5 as soon as you can as it reduces missile explosion radius as well. Target navigation prediction is another skill you want to get leveled up also. It reduces the effects of target speed on missile damage application.

extra damage helps speed things up so much! why I suggest the highest possible dps fit for nearly everyone but the newest players.
