Summer here in New England makes me cry. I want to do nothing more than stay inside and play interweb spaceships.

I always thought that the geordie definition of warm and sunny was "I saw the sun for 10 minutes and it's warmer than 10°c" P

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

The temperature tends to be defined by the bar you're in at the time - usually stupidly hot hence shirt / skimpy dress all year!
Temperature outside irrelevant.

Meh, I haven't been as interested to play lately due to 4s getting fracked in the pipes once again. Pretty much no point to play, thus, might as well just shut it down and go play something else.

It is one of three things, or a combination of them:

1. Numbers are down on a temporary basis because of numerous real life distractions/ economics that will pass and numbers will return to the 50k-ish peaks.

2. A number of people have become fed up with the direction of the game that CCP is allowing its developers to take it, and unsubbed all or many of their accounts in protest (I have. This is my only paying account presently.) If and when subs drop to some threshold, CCP may clue in and the responsible parties will be removed from positions where they can damage the game, the damage reversed, and the subs might increase again if the protesters are satisfied.

3. There is a systemic problem with the game, be it the existing in-game mechanics, the meta-gaming, the stagnation of null, etc. (it really could be a ton of systemic factors), and people are bored with the game and have left permanently. This could be a huge problem if true.

I believe that it is mostly #2 with a bit of #1 and #3.

But regardless of what anyone posts on the forums, only CCP can understand the subscription numbers and what / if any problem they are having. And CCP is the only one that can fix it.

Frankly, I don't care that much these days.

Either there are subscription issues and CCP will fix them, or there are no sub issues.
If the former, then I may re-engage myself with the game.
If the latter, well then, eventually my ISK buffer for plexes runs out and I stop logging on.

I know this might seem curious for you but actually some people don't live in their mom's basement and actually have a life. This time of year is the best for some vacations in family or friends.

You should give it a try some time Lol

Until CCP starts to balance instead of nerf and add content instead of removing it, I think a lot of us will be dropping some or all of our accts.

I'm personally running out three permanently and putting two others on hold. That's five subs gone from a single player. I can't imagine I'm the only one doing this.

I do look forward to CCP moving in a new direction of making the game fun again instead of killing it for the largest group of subscribers.

I've been away from EvE while :
1) working a lot, including 12 hour night shifts from 1900 to 0700 and 64 hour weeks
2) playing Diablo III when I'm conscious
3) waiting for the UI to stabilize so I can re-learn it only once instead of acclimating to daily changes ... oh wait, there aren't any changes...
4) only logging on to update training queues

BTW - the cow level in Diablo III is freakin' hilarious. It's looks like My Little Pony Online except it plays like it was conceived by a psychopathic kindergartner on hallucinogens, including gigantic elite teddy bears and unicorns named things like "Feuro - Torturer of Souls". Not to steal more players away from EvE ...

Bottom line, if there are many others like me who are away for a similar set of reasons, that could explain the lull in attendance.
