Inty Invention Chance Question

I have a quick question I was hoping S&I could shed some light on:

When inventing items like Interceptors, where you have 2 possible outcomes both based on that one t1 hull, how does it affect overall chance? The Slasher blueprint's page, for example, has a base chance of 30% to invent a Claw and 30% to invent a Stiletto. Does that add up to a total 60% base chance to invent something from a Slasher BPC?

This seems too good to be true, so is there something that affects which ship you 'try for' with the invention job, such that you exclude the possibility of getting one or the other ship? Thanks for any help.

Equal chance on either hull, not cumulative (that would be awesome). Check this out for your chances:

Ah, so it's basically a 30% chance to get an invention hit, and an even split on which ship it will be? Thanks, that makes much more sense.

When you're installing an Invention job, one of the options sets the resulting T2 item (if successful). So you pick whether you're trying to invent a Claw or a Stiletto and then have a 30% chance at succeeding.
