How close to the button do I have to be to get the LP?

I was running a medium FW plex recently and orbited it at 19km with my ship. The timer did run down properly, and I was the only pilot in that plex for the whole duration.

When the plex was captured though I got the dissapointing message that I was too far away from the button to be eligible for a LP reward.

Am I misunderstanding the rules here and do I need to be closer than the capture distance to the plex? How close exactly do I need to be to get the LP?

There is still a bug that causes you to lose the plex if your around 1km from the max range.

Happened to me multiple times .. then I just adjusted my orbit so that im closer.


Its still a bug and causes you to waste time.

I think the 1km thing has something to do with latency, but yes, by all means, try to stay within 2K of the outer limit of orbitting. So, 8km for minors, 17.5km for mediums and 27.5km for majors.
