What is going on here?

There is someone's NPC alt with 46 losses this month, and 26 losses last month -- all in the same system, in NPC nullsec. The vast majority of his losses are his pod. A few of them are of his rookie ship and then his pod. On the third of this month, from 03:16 to 19:53, he lost his pod in this one system 28 times.

What could this guy be up to? If he's a scout, why would he only be scouting one system? And how could he lose his pod so much doing it? And the system is never bubbled, but this guy has lost his pod even to tornadoes.

I have one idea: he's almost completely AFK intelligence. You use no-skill alts on some of your accounts and deploy them to points of interest in a region and then, after a month of doing this, you just look at the collective losses to see who's where. Leave meat around and see what bites. Maybe he has a 'bot' that does no more than randomly hit the undock button. This has an advantage over just looking in local in that it highlights potential combatants rather than people who wouldn't even hurt a pod (or undock to hurt one). Also, whereas with looking at local or scouting around you'll want to take notes and perform analysis over time, with this you look at the data when it's convenient for you.

Some people like exploding. TEST is full of them.

Theres one neutral dude who basically lives in 1DH ever since we moved there for the war, and repeatedly undocks over and over for lols while chatting in local. I have seen that single pilot explode at least 50 times.

could be a badly programmed bot. That is unlocking in a pod to mine/rat while the owner is on holidays.

If so, he's just letting whoever happens to be around make the corpse for him (doesn't self-destructing your pod leave a corpse?). And sometimes he's screwing it up by repeatedly having them shoot through his rookie ship, first.

But I'll look for the corpses.

Its not like you provided a name to look up the kills, just left to guessing.

True, I thought there was some rule against that. Take a look at http://evemaps.dotlan.net/system/TG-Z23/kills

Presently, there is an NPC corp alt who gets killed dozens of times a day in 319 in Delve. This is the staging system for the southern coalition and we are camping it. Whenever we warp a fleet to the station and they all dock up- they then proceed to undock, redock for hours just to keep eyes on us/see whats going on outside.

Also, I have seen a scam victim throw himself at the Torrinos gate over and over and get killed and podded dozens of times in a row by a gate camp. I had to stop killing him because his noobships were clogging up my kb.

There are any number of reasons for this.

Just goes to show that there are more than a few tools out there who drool like modern-day knucke-draggers at the thought of getting a KM, any KM. These are the kind of people that hang out behind dumpsters to jump the little old lady for her social security check.
