Introduce some gate network destroying event that forces everyone to use wormholes to travel.

yes back in the day just before i started to play yuli was the main system not jita due to how the gate network worked... but then then fiddled with it and made it so you could go from high sec region to high sec...

i say sure but have a levy... infact make it mass for it too... you can still choose to go but it would cost similar to using liquid ozone in a jb...

might get some more people to brave low sec or team up and play coop instead of solo...

Sure, but all gates need to have the same tolls and no exceptions to being broke. A starter noob and no money to get out or a system.. sucks to be you.

We have super highways in EVE. Jumpportals on POS. And they have a toll in the sense of fuel consumption. Maybe you're not paying it, but your directors are.

I'm against trolls on super highways. However, everybody knows that trolls like bridges, so I think it would be most appropriate to have trolls occupying jump bridges.

All that would do is kill every hub except from jita.

Instead, make all travel between constellations require low sec jumps and all travel between regions either 0.0 or wormholes. This would invigorate industry and cross universe trade. Small time builders could make a living in their own pockets, larger groups could make an empire which somehow crosses regional divides. Risk averse people simply stick to their own constellation. Nobody loses

No to being able to autopilot over the universe. No to simple cross legion logistics. Yes to complex and risky cross region mechanics.
