You can swing shields on Domis lots of different ways. A lot depends on just how much you're willing/able to spend. If you're looking for a fairly cheap gank fit PvE Domi, you could go with something along these lines:

[Dominix, cheap shield sentry]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Power Diagnostic System II
Power Diagnostic System II

Large C5-L Emergency Shield Overload I
Kinetic Deflection Field II
Kinetic Deflection Field II
Thermic Dissipation Field II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link I

425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L
Drone Link Augmentor I

Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Garde II x5
Warden II x5

If you're willing to go all out, a Navy Domi could look like this:

[Dominix Navy Issue, gank rails drone damage mods]
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Republic Fleet Tracking Enhancer
Republic Fleet Tracking Enhancer

Gist C-Type X-Large Shield Booster
Gist C-Type Kinetic Deflection Field
Gist C-Type Thermic Dissipation Field
Gist C-Type Kinetic Deflection Field
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II

425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
Black Eagle Drone Link Augmentor

Large Capacitor Control Circuit II
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Garde II x5
Warden II x5

And there's a huge range in between.

If given the choice, the armor tanked domi makes alot more sense IMO for running missions.

This is because the mid slots are just so much more useful for other stuff for instance:

Afterburner - Trying to run missions without one just sucks really bad on many levels.

Target painter - Really nice to have.

Omni directional link - 1 of these makes a noticeable difference with sentries.

Cap Rechargers - The best cap recharging module, has no downside.

It depends fully on what you're fighting. You should take advantage of the built-in bonuses the dominix already has:

Strong armor vs em and thermal/kin, so if you're fighting sansha, please make an armor dominix.
Strong shield vs explosive and kinetic, so if you're fighting angels, please use your shield dominix.

You can try to "one-size fits all" a domi, which kinda works, specialize and it will be golden.

Haha I put together a shield domi just yesterday because of helpmymission channel suggestion. Unfortunately I didn't have any faction modules available so I was really short on CPU and had to sacrifice a low to a co processor(all my modules were t2). However I did use the new ancillary shield booster, I think that can help the fit somewhat. New domi fits go over 1000 dps with no problem.

If you're gank-tanking everything, an XL ASB setup works quite well. Otherwise, go active cap, saves a lot of module space.

I've used this setup. Needs some implants to fit all the T2 modules, but works very well. Navy version is even better, you add another invul or tracking link depending on what you want more: tank or dps.

[Dominix, Dominix - Ancillary Shield Domi High DPS]

Damage Control II
Tracking Enhancer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Ancillary Shield Booster, Cap Booster 150
Large Ancillary Shield Booster, Cap Booster 150
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Shield Boost Amplifier II

350mm Railgun II
350mm Railgun II
350mm Railgun II

One word of warning about Rinnve's fit (and ancillary fits in general), if you aren't using navy cap boosters you'll have at least some period of time where both your boosters are reloading, which could potentially get you into trouble. Also the small and medium ASBs don't have navy boosters (at the small end at least), so you need 3 of them to be able to perma-boost. With non-navy boosters you wind up with 12 seconds of vulnerability per reload cycle, and 30 seconds if you only have 2 mediums/smalls. Not insignificant. Neither is the price, of course, so you have to judge for yourself whether you can live without them in a particular mission.

Otherwise, they can make for some very nice fits if you can get them to fit.

In fact, large ASB can run for about 3-4 cycles without emptying capacitor, so with careful management there is very little danger. And, this fit is MUCH better on navy dominix with it's almost twice larger shield and capacitor.
