I want to colonize planets and build cities on them.

This game has so much potential to be the ultimate Sci-Fy sandbox. I have tried to get into the game many times and always ended up quitting because, well... I couldn't get out of my ship. Once I saw that Incarna had been rolled out I decided to give it another try. As lame as the experience is at the moment - I love it.

I understand that the space portion of the game should always come first, however the other side of EVE could be very cool. We have CQs, next I see us getting all the CQs, then station access, then shops, NPC agents, non NPC agents for private corps, and then we could actually colonize the planets. Build player cities like there were in SWG, harvest resources from the ground.... man I could go on forever here.

Two of my closest friends and I have just started new accounts and we plan on being here for a very long time.

i said a long time ago they should make a new game, something like sim city where you build on a planet, trade with other player cities, pay taxes, collect taxes from your citizens, make jobs make them build stuff that you export to space ect...

Just get a Playstation 3 and Dust 514.

Take a planet in Dust - then go play Age of Empires or Civilisations, and name the map after the planet you just took.

When you're planet gets taken from you - find the map after its name and hit deleete.

problem solved!

Maybe one day being able to colonise a planet for your corp/alliance would be 'Capital Fl;ag' thing and give extra bonuses to ur corp like more PI, better crews etc?

I would like to detonate 100 megaton payload in your colonized city and see how many citizens actually reach the orbit.

There is a very old but very similar game to Eve and one of its features let you to haul colonists around and colonize other planets and this is the one feature still missing from that game which brought me so much joy.

I had hoped beyond hope that PI would be building cities and running empires and bombing them from orbit.. then as the blogs came out I loled..

Galactic civilisations it ain't

Same can be said for anything that isn't FIS

The idea is epic the enhancement of EVE into a full sci fi world however the CCP implementation of doing it in house is like a graduate project:

-If CCP want to have planetary interaction and empire managment get a RTS company to do it as an add on.
-If CCP want to have an EVE first person MMO engine get a first person MMO company to do it as an add on.
-If CCP want to have an EVE FPS get a FPS company to do it as an add on.
and FFS make them fun to play with a point!..

The model should have been if you want to play the above you pay the extra subscription or break open a plex to do it.

The beauty would be if you could play for free / make in game currency to buy plex in any of them and all of them follow a PVP model to some extent to balance it. Get sick of FIS... go build some colonies wander around roleplaying as a bartender, or snipe some guy with a railgun.. get sick of that? Siege the planet from orbit and take out the outpost above it.

So much wasted time and effort for something that was so promising, that is the truly galling thing.

I want to convince a primitive humanoid civilization that i am god, and tell them to mutilate the sex organs of their male children at birth. Or maybe just mate with their women and make my children the ruling caste.

The important thing here is that i screw them up as much as possible to satisfy my own twisted desires, and cause centuries of wars and division.

I would like a eve connected ogame derivate. With all the stuff that ogame delivers, but with the eve-corps and alliances and of course all the connected consequences.

When I am at home, I play eve or maybe Dust in the future..but what am I supposed to do at work? I am totally in need of a eve related ogame that matters!

As if DUST514 is really going to release now.. LoL,, Down with the WiS, down with the DUST514. I thought that was supposed to be another feature of CQ and WiS..

Could be mistaken but I wouldn't believe CCP if they told me I was..

LoL.. PS3 is great for shooters. They look excellent and play quite smoothly. Have you really done any FPS's on PS3? Do you even OWN one..

If so list some of the FPS's you have tried..

Please..

Many players and most certainly CCP have forgotten about it, but for reference the Fanfest 09 Tyrannis preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-kVv1q6uHM

Watch the presentation, take notes and then compare it to what we actually got with PI. You may understand why a lot of players turned bitter about the differences between the concept and the actual result.

Personally I can even forgive Incarna, as it was only a prototype, but not Planetary Interaction. From the very start all interesting features were removed, turning it into the monument of failure it is now.

....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.

I must say PI was much cooler on their slides than it is now...

What I want to know is how what they talked about doing there, the potential of some thing that could have really add something interesting for EvE players to do and seemed to be all the things that EvE stands for like players having to deal with other players and conflict, competition, reward vs risk, devolved and mutated into the hideous utterly boring PI monster we got?

Would have been better if they did a Sim City or Civilization in space instead of the malformed should have been aborted thing we got.

CCP needs to do better.

When the released PI there was all this talk about a team being left to improve it over time, but after how poorly it was received that seemed to got quietly forgotten. PI needs to be improved a lot for it to be anything more than annoying thing players have to do, so they can make the things now forever connected to it. T2 and POS stuff.

Sadly CCP was all take and no walk with that feature.

colonize a planet with low technology
make them see you as god
take some women with you
send them to establishments
earn money with all the people visiting your establishments to see your 100% natural exotic dancers

or if you want something more eve-ish ; cities on planet let us product crew.
