POS shield

Just a small thing that came to me just a sec ago ( as i just discovered 2 dead posses )

Why does a pos have shield, even if it's offline?
Why don't you make it so the force-field is the actual shield and if the pos is out of fuel ( which means no power to keep shields up in real life, if we were to have shields in real life ), it has no shields left.....???

I mean, i run into SO MANY neglected posses, taking up space on moons, with nobody bothering to take them down, because you'd need a sieged dread to do that in any reasonablt time-frame.

I say you neglect it, your loss, if you neglect a ship out in space, it's your loss too, so why not a pos....??

Even better, how bout you make posses which are offline for longer then a month capturable??

I mean same story, it can be done with ships, so why not with a pos?

Following this argumentation, we could expect to see a ship's shields collapsing, once it's capacitor is dead.

As someone who prefers armor tanks, I must say: Too bad that doesn't happen! Twisted

Well if you have an active tank, it kinda does actually :P

But what i meant was, that all pos modules go offline, as the pos goes offline, as it has no more MW output to sustain them.

Why can't POSes just shoot all their loots into space when they run out of fuel? So much easier.

You can do it with 10 stealth bombers as quickly as you could with a sieged dread. It's cheaper too.

This is a very good point. I have wondered the same thing myself.

Same reason that you have to have the range to hit the INSIDE of the tower, not the shield. CCP too ******* lazy to make anything work.

Offline, no shield you can see = = no shield... but then again when once you got it into armor the shield is STILL up.

Welcome to eve... if it aint fixed break it.

no charters in fuel bay = unachored

problem solved

id like to see the empire factions hot dropping no charter POS, but ofc thats more detailed

it would be fun to see tho /popcorn

You are about to engage in an arguement with a forum alt,  this is your final warning.

Because the forcefield is not the shield.

That raises a good question really...what does fuel the shield when the capacitor is dead? Ugh

So by that logic EVERY ship in EVE should use fuel, and as soon as the fuel runs out you lose your shields.

Sounds really fun.

Seems reasonable... It would allow others to move in on moons that people have abandoned when they left the game - or just stopped caring about.

Actually, that does sound like fun. Warp drive should require some fuel as well. Running your power plant should require fuel and when that is empty you don't regain any capacitor.
