My first death from another player(s) required two dessies and two frigs against my Jaguar. I gave them the ol' tip of the hat for a nicely executed ambush and asked for more.

Learn to enjoy losing ships as well as destroying them and you will enjoy EVE.

Yup, by fighting back you showed some drive and determination. You stuck up for yourself despite being horribly out matched and you are respected for that.

You are therefore a guy worth recruiting and teaching, cause when you know what you're doing then you'll be that much more of a threat to your enemies :D

You attempted to fight back, which already makes you superior to half the mining folk. The default response is to come here and say the game is broken. Well done

That is what I find the most amazing about this game as well. You will meet the nicest mean people, and the meanest nice people. Quoting a great Narn philosopher "No one here is exactly what he appears..."

I don't canflip, but I would have a lot of respect for a new player who shipped up and came back to fight instead of crying. So yes, I would try to help them and fund them.

It's been said, but welcome to EVE.

Most of my thoughts have already been said, but i too congratulate you on not being a wimp.

If i had been the one to flip you, i absolutely would have recruited you after seeing that level of spunk. Also keep an eye on your wallet tomorrow. Im away from a client atm, but ill be sending a little dough your way.

As an anecdote, i remember my first week in eve. I was can flipped within hours, and had no idea how concord worked. The guy waited for agression to go away then came back, i shot him and DIAF. A few days later i got caught in a gate camp in rancer due to poor auto pilot settings. took an atron deep into what was then BoB territory, realized where i was and ran all the way home only to get caught by a gate camp that thought i was a spy, but eventually let me go and later tried to recruit me. I was hooked. No matter how many times i try to quit, i always end up resubbing and spinning my ship in a station if i dont find anything better to do :P

welcome to eve, the only game that you cant win

I always congratulate those who kill me. They seem surprised (and happy) when I do because 99% of the time they only get hate and threats.

And when I'm the victor, if the looser is not too sore, I happily provide some pointers as per what they did wrong and how to prepare for the next encounter.

After all, it's a game, we are supposed to have fun.

This is typical - corps like that help you learn, don't pass on the opportunity.

yeah na, learn what?
how to can flip?
I think OP learned that already.
More likely they want a noob to pay taxes and mine for them, but whatever.
Don't start thinking you'll join the corp & all join hands & sing Kum ba ya.
It's not really that kinda game.

I wish all new players & habitual miners had this attitude. The vast majority of the ones I suicide gank or can flip rage-quit the game & rage more when I give them advice on how to avoid it in the future.

You're the very player CCP loves. You make up their advertisments for them Lol But yeah, that kind of response is very normal, afterall you did show you were at least willing to try & fight back (and thus, have room for learning P )

Welcome to EVE !

First off, im new. So yeah....

So I was mining with a destroyer and just jetting my minerals for my iteron to pick it up, some dude comes in and steals mine, and every elses right? So I return to my dock, and get out a tristan. Fully loaded I return to my mining field, alas he is gone =/ so I search through the system and finally find him, I quickly lock on turn on my speed disruptor thing, and proceed with firing missiles and lasers. Unfortunately as a brand new player, (newb, noob, idiot) I had no idea what fire power he had, and he destroyed me within seconds. So I return to my base, and get a message. He says "good fight" lol I knew it wasnt. but he continues and gives me advice, pays back for my ship + all the ammo I had with it + some??? and invites me to his Corp...

So I just got one question... is this a usual experience in EVE??

Very simple, you showed bawlz, but no experience, experience can be gained, bawlz can not be grown ( usually ), so you are really just a good investment for the future, as your mentality fits this game perfectly.

Edit: as another example, i had this guy in our last wormhole ( A class 1..... bleh ) who ganked 2 of my members.
The guy doing that, has been part of our corporation since then, helping me teach our members in the PvP department.

Edit2: typos :P

Great attitude welcome to the world of eve.. If you like PVP, get used to DIAF :D

Personally i find its a dissapointing roam if my ship survives :D

If someone had that attitude that i can flipped/ganked id reward them also as long as they didnt whine. Eve needs more people with your attitude.

Lol interesting, all other games, I would be hunted down and repeatedly killed by that player, not get invited to join him AND receive money..... I love this game already and havnt even been playing a week...

It's because you tried!

Really, so many players are too scared to stick their neck out. Sure you were outgunned, but you strapped on that frigate and gave it a whirl. The other player respected that, and things progress from there.

Yea, Eve is like that. It is all about your attitude. The right attitude makes friends out of enemies.
