From a framework / technical perspective it would be no problem at all. We have simply made an explicit decision to only display EVE Time.

One Universe
One War
One Time
To rule them all

(Your OS displays the local time.)

How about a mouseover function to show local time? Smile

How about you look at your watch, phone or in one of the corners on your desktop? Maybe the one at your wall?

Don't have a phone or a watch or a clock on the wall and I'd have to alt tab out, which would be bad in the middle of something important, mmkay?

Pray tell why you don't have a phone? What ******* century are you from?

I'm from the century that despises cell phones and facebook. I've hated cell phones since they were called beepers, I am not a fan of being overly accessible or connected to the world by the hip. There used to be a time when everyone went somewhere to be social. While those places still exist, I find it overly annoying when I see a bunch of people living their social life by staring at a phone. Oh dear I think I just ranted.....

I know people who have no phone, but they are the people that still wear a watch. If you're from a time where only "the youngsters" wear watches, you can probably tell by the sun. So where is the problem bro?

It's still a movie reference - and one which made me laugh even though I did not know it before.

@Bootleg Jack: It was not a polite customer request. It was a developer bash. 'How hard can it be' etc. If he had phrased it differently, he might have gotten a different response.

By definition then GMT is fixed. Britain is on GMT during the winter but on BST (British Summer Time) during the summer; and BST is defined as GMT+1.

Is the time displayed by the client the actual server clock or the client's local clock converted to server's timezone?

It's the TQ clock with an approx. ±1 second accuracy (not guaranteed).

At least we all use the same time zone.

Not only is the US split into multiple time zones, each state has the option of using daylight savings time or not.

And not every country does daylight saving time. Iceland, for example, doesn't. Probably something to do with the fact the sun rises at 03:10 and sets at 23:52 this time of year. Without really getting dark in between.

Oh, +1 for keeping Eve on UTC/GMT (if you're not a scientist, they're the same)

And not China, India, Russia; in fact the majority doesn't use summer time. Only the blue countries here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/DaylightSaving-World-Subdivisions.png use summer time.

+1 for keeping eve time. Other wise I am likely to get an overblown sense of self importance for being so far ahead of everyone else. :)

+1 internets for you, my good sir!

EDIT: and I've believed for several years now that we should all switch to one world time....give it 5 years and everyone will be use to it, heck, it didn't take that long for people to believe that the current time zone configuration always that way.

can't you just write a letter to your favourite polititian and ask him if he could change your time to eve time?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
