I have to give him credit, he worked extremely hard to get where he was and did it while still enjoying the game on his own character. I would think most people who did this would either burn out and quit or view it as strictly business, he seemed to really love the game until the CU of doom hit.

The CU was not the half of what killed SWG. the NGE was the real nail in that game.

I wonder though could someone build an empire like that in EVE on their own? The only thing close I can think of is the great EVE-Bank heist where the CEO made off with something like 700b ISK.

EVE is like swimming on a beach in shark infested waters,  There is however a catch...  The EVE Beach you also have to wonder which fellow swimmer will try and eat you before the sharks.

Got a kick out of all the comments asking if he's playing Eve now. And surprised no one mentioned Entropia or SL.

Though stories like that are interesting, they are also why I've not had much interest in MMOs. For the game itself, anyway. I'm much more interested in the communities and the players within it, as well as the hardware that runs it.
