What are your plans for this Wednesday?

Obviously this is a thread for the Amurikans. How many of you are planning on getting completely shitface loaded while taking a match to explosives? Any particular destructive device that ya'all are fond of? And whats on the menu for the night?

It's going to be pretty much the usual for me with sitting on the garage roof and looking down at the towns yearly festival. Kind of fun to have that perspective. I personally can't go crazy with any airbornes myself considering that I essentially live on a pile of hay but I will load up on Tanks so I can do another round of tank wars. If I had more pavement I would consider some missile launchers and maybe a few of the high end items considering that I can drive for about an hour in any direction and run across one of those year round warehouses (or I could hit up the Indian reservation up north and get the really good stuff).

And I've recently have acquired a smoker so pretty much every meal for the last week has been cooked on that while we peruse the new cookbook. Trying to decide on either trying a roast, slow cook ribs, or buffalo wings. Any of those with some deviled egg potato salad and a couple of Sam Adams Summer ale's and I think my midweek weekend will be complete. Can't go too crazy however due to having work on Tues and Thursday along with class.

Because being a Kunadian I already celebrated our national Holiday with lots of explosions and fatty food.

Working, because I want to save my time off for something important. Besides, working on holidays means I'll spend half the day watching movies, as there's nothing to do.

I don't have to work so I'll probably be playing EVE.

Someone I know once tried to launch a rock form his hands while he was drunk. Now he has only 3 fingers left on that hand.

But, why celebrate by getting drunk? Surely, there are other more interesting ways to celebrate?

That's more of a general statement as I've noticed a commonality among every nation is that people will find any reason to get inebriated.

Personally I did my time as the resident alcoholic until I decided to sober up 7 years ago. For a couple of years I couldn't even touch a beer. Now my drinking days consist of 1 beer on some of the major beer related holidays (Oktoberfest, St. Patty's Day, the 4th) and maybe one on the weekend with my father. No wine, no hard stuff. Ain't no way I'm going back to my old life.

For those of us working for RL Markets, Tues is an early close, so I get to come in a bit late tonight (working overnight).

I currently have no 'major' plans, though I'll probably spend the early hours watching our Icinga server (we're still debugging a problem that occurs only on a holiday, due to a combination of things). There's also a couple other things that are best done when no one else is around.

Thankfully I'd not have to go far for any possible fireworks, since the high school grounds they used last year are literally within eyesight of the house. And its actually advantageous to go to work early on Wed night (say 20:30 or so), as last year I was able to see four different fireworks displays from the hill our building is perched on. Cool

That's the advantage that I have. I live on the mountain with a perfect view of the entire valley that the town is in so not only will I see what is being launched from the football field I can see what is being launched from anywhere, and the town is small enough that I can tell you who launched it.

Fireworks have been illegalized where I live. Isn't that a violation of the U.S. Constitution? You know, the right to bear fireworks

I'm going to scan Science/H2/Discovery for any good marathons I'm interested in. Barring that, probably Sins or sleep.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Probably good that the local firework display is going to happen in about an hour or so. Cool Still, its gonna be close even then.

Also, it would appear that the trees at work have grown a lot more than last year. The view I had then wasn't happening when I looked around this morning before going home. What?

For anyone who's going to suggest the roof, its a datacenter. No thanks. P
