Maybe we don't want? Because it's easier to make appointments in EVE if we all talk about the same time? Just learn how to add/subtract.

PS: Of course, it could be done as a client option for players without friends.

Then how will you coordinate with people in different countries. Do you want to always be saying '7 PM CST" and doing conversions in your head about when people mean when they say 7 PM? It'd basically be impossible to run an international organization, such as your average corp.

I think if you had local time you'd quickly be asking for universal time.

I have a clock on my wall. And on my phone. And on my computer.

Of course, time is merely an abstract concept with no real meaning, you know that right?

For the love of (insert imaginary being here) learn time zones. Seriously, how hard can it be?

I have managed to go to bed an hour later than intended quite a few times due to the Eve clock being GMT and not BST! Local time would make more sense, or allowing the user to choose.

How about a mouseover function to show local time? Smile

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

1- play in windowed mode
2a- bottem left of screen = eve time
2b- bottem right of screen = local time
3- waste of time = this thread

How about you look at your watch, phone or in one of the corners on your desktop? Maybe the one at your wall?

Shocked

please keep it as it is.

As already stated, it's necessary for coordination within international played EVE, and it's not hard to add or substract a single cipher in mind.

EVE time is fine for EVE. It shouldn't be hard to learn that it isn't your local time.

It could show local time when you mouse over it though.

I'm just grateful that EVE is using a time I can actually convert, and not something like Swatch Time (or whatever that was called).

Or you could, you know, just click on the clock to switch back to UTC. Or some other very simple method to let one glance at their local time if they want to without inconveniencing the rest of the players one bit.

Sure, there are plenty of other ways to keep track of "your" time, but the lack of a local clock in the client is actually pretty weak.

But I live in GMT -6...how am I supposed to know how many zones away from GMT that is? I say nerf all clocks...they are to OP and hard to use...

Always telling me when I am supposed to be somewhere or do something...we must band together to have a unified voice against the horribly unbalanced clock menace! Nerf Clocks!...and time. Nerf Clocks and Time! CCP I demand this or I will unsub all 6483 accounts!

Please for the love of EVE no. The unified time zone is one of the best things in EVE.

No, not even a toggle. I don't want to have to instruct every person joining my corp to turn it back to a normal time, and then have them STILL turn it back and miss ops. It would be a chaos.
