A few basic questions about the CSM

I've read the evolopedia page and have a few basic questions about how this works so please forgive me if these have been asked before.

1. Are all topics equal? Are there some topics which the CSM prefer seeing posted or are more likely to get attention? For example, I recently asked about why gallente ships aren't popular and got some answers such as lack of a true DPS ship and lack of damage projection. So would asking them to bring up improving blaster boats damage projections in a large gang battle without making them OP in solo or small gangs be something that get looked at?

2. Do they have a black list of topics that they aren't going to touch no matter what? Like if I asked them to bring up the weakness of active tanking in pvp would they brush it off completely? I guess added to this would be a list of topics that have been done to death already.

3. Are some times better than others to post issues? I know they just had a meeting end so is now a good time or the worst time to bring something up?

4. Do they have a preferred method of communicating with them? Forums? In game mail? Twitter?

5. Aside from votes, is there any way to give feedback for the process or how well any CSM did or didn't do? Are there any sites that track what they do or compare what members promised to what they delivered?

6. Is there anything else I should know first but didn't ask?

7. There is no veldspar.

8. I've got nothing else, I just wanted to make a few more numbers.

9. Would Eric Cartman be the south park character who best typifies this game?

Do some very basic research before you post a topic. If it has been asked a hundred times before without any answer or with a negative answer, chances are asking one more time won't change anything. This includes but is not limited to:

AFK cloaking
TII BPOs
Local chat changes
Hisec removal / making hisec safe space
Limits on alliance / coallition / blue list size
etc.

Also asking for complete game redesign will only get you ridiculed. Don't ask for things CCP can't reallistically implement without rewriting half of EVE. This includes:

Any sort of twitch flying
Splitting the game server
New ship classes
Completely new mechanics for anything from mining to missions to industry to sovereignty
Anything related to walking in stations

An exception to this is when CCP specifically announces they are working on a feature and ask for more input.

Old news, re:Gallente. They have had recent weapons upgrades. Not al topics are equal, CSM doesn't steer the boat but they can lean into the corners (mixed metaphor for the win)

You can bring up what you like, but that does not mean it will move to the top of the list. See https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=270 for a good start to se if you are reinventing the wheel

Good question. As soon as I know the right answer I will let you know.

Let's see how this rounds minutes come out, in the past it has been hard to see who did or did not do anything.

Hope this helps

Excellent post Mike, answered a lot of the guys questions.

With regard to 5, the CSM and CCP made a decision that this summit we would experiment with personal attribution in the minutes. With that said, the Iceland summits while important are only a fraction of the time and activity of the CSM.

Hans Jagerblitzen, for instance, was not able to say much that made it into minutes because he could only attend virtually and only some sessions. However his work for the CSM, particularly on faction warfare, has been awe inspiring and constant, and he's one of the most active CSM in communicating with his constituents. Though they do contribute to some of the picture: Darius III did not attend any of the sessions which continues a trend of barely communicating or interacting with CCP or the rest of the CSM at all, with constructive or positive interaction rarer still.

So enjoy the new style minutes when they come out, let us know if you like them or it's just more for you to read. Keep them in perspective though, context is important.
