Turrets are too quiet.

Disclaimer: I do not have the "Quieter Turrets" options selected.

Just me or did the missile effects made them just a bit too loud? Or maybe turrets are too quiet. I can't hear my Large Projectile Turrets on my Maelstrom next to my friend's Raven firing his Cruise Missiles.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

The sound is based on the closeness of your camera to the ship. So if you zoom closer to your ship the sounds should be louder. So if you camera is closer to the Raven the Raven will be louder.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

The "swoosh" of the missiles as they fly still drown out my turrets regardless of distance.

Maybe turrets just have crap sounds and needs to be polished, I dunno.

No one? Fine I'll do it.

Eve has sound?

It's a templar, an amarr fighter drone.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

I was close to pointing out that in the vacuum of space...there is no sound.

Because sound in space is logical at all

If you are on the ship firing the gun, it has sound.

You will find this article interesting:

After a while Anu's voice came back: "You're doing very well. Now we are going to activate the audio synthesizers."

"Audio synthesizers? What do you mean?" Pirkotan thought.

"As you know there is no sound in space, but when we were developing the capsules we found that people wanted to use as many of their senses as possible, thus we added the sound. By letting a computer create three dimensional sound we also add to the awareness you have while in battles, for instance."

Several seconds later Pirkotan could hear the audio synthesizers kick in; he could hear the low humming noise of the propulsion system and the sudden hissing sound of course-correctional thrusters.

I've had some trouble with sounds after those new missile effects. And it could be just me but large turrets sound not-so-large after that same patch. And for example heavy pulses are as loud as they were before.

After undocking I have to zoom in to have turret sounds then I can zoom out. After that turret sounds work like they should (distance from ship to camera makes them louder or quieter).

Some of the missile effects are rather loud. But then Hybrids are rather quiet too. I have no problem with laser/projectiles vs missiles. But missiles drown out Hybrids pretty easily. Hybrids have terrible, anemic SFX to begin with though. A small launcher will easily drown out a large rail.

I've come to the conclusion that it is the Large Projectile Turret sounds that are horrible.

Medium Projectile Turrets have much better sounds, both louder and crisper.

At least 1200mm Artillery lacks the "omph!" you'd expect from such big cannons.

This has been one of my biggest complaints about eve. I really wish the volume was not based on camera position. The sound should always be based from the point of my ship. I hate that zooming out to be able to actually get any visual idea of what's going means I lose all sound. And really it doesn't make sense. I'm still in the ship, not where the camera is.

Ive noticed this too after the missile update, the missiles are really loud.

I use both missiles and hybrids , my hybrids sound like little toy guns even my 425mm hybrids fully zoomed in on the turret with quiet turret DISABLED.

I remember along time ago... probably a real long time ago.. But hybrid turrets used to have a really hefty sound to em it was really nice... id like to get that back :)

And to all the nitpickers YES space has no sound.. :P , and i play my game with sound though I've turned the background music off and have Pandora pick the songs for me but the effects i still use and like.

Turrets have gone really quiet after the missile update, same goes for drones btw. Unless I zoom in all the way I can't hear them and even when hugging my ship's hull they're kinda quiet (and no, nothing to do with my volume settings in either EVE or windows). Other sounds are more than loud enough btw...
