It would be good if there was a giant invisible bubble put up around the tournament once match started to prevent emergency warps. Having an important ship disconnect for even a minute is probably already going to lose most fights where it would have mattered anyway though.

The bubble is already there. You can watch VODs and notice it right in the center of arena.

also, I never saw the countdown in local, pretty sure I was offline before the match started.

This confirms what I believed happened. There is a warp bubble at the center of the arena, but to allow for warps it is not activated until the match actually starts. Had the disconnect happened after match start the ship almost certainly would have stayed in place.

Oh, i didnt notice the bubble gets onlined at the start of the match because there was no visible effect. Well if thats the case all is fine then. :)

yea that's certainly better so he was killed bc he tried to warp off not due to disconnection.

the only reason he warped in the first place was because he disconnected.

true but my point was if some one discos during a match they still have a chance to get back in not auto killed. it was the fact that he discoed before the warp disruptor went up that was his downfall.

Please make it so that disconnecting in the arena doesn't make the ship explode. I can't see the harm in just making the ship stay there as if it's pointed/in a bubble (no emergency warp) and give the pilot a chance to reconnect. It's already very unlucky to have a pilot disconnect - there's no reason to make it worse by blowing his ship right there on the spot.

I agree. A team losing due to a disconnect is not a tourny, it's a game of chance.

The bubble on field should be up once all ships have landed....

If you change it, what will you say to Shadow Cartel (who arguably lost pretty much because of this)?

Surely the change should go into effect only after the qualifier stages to assure everyone qualifies on equal terms.

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

I support this. I'm bad enough at flying internet spaceships even when my connection works properly, don't want to look even more bad in case some drunk bear will chew the internet cable somewhere in the forest!

Have lost a match due to Logi disconnecting at the very start (AT3 -V- team probably). Very frustrating experience. Support this change.

The Shadow Cartel pilot did not log back in until the match was completed, so it wouldn't have mattered in that case what we did.

The most I'll do at this point is give Sreegs the ability to activate the bubble manually before the match begins for when there's a gap in time before match start after the teams are on grid. There's still the possibility then that the ship will disappear as they won't have any aggression on them at this point.

Doesn't the bubble give you aggro upon disconnecting? I haven't gatecamped in a while.

Either way, the team could aggro themselves at the beacon prior to warping in Smile

He didnt try to log in until the end as we were under the impression that the rules stated that he wouldn't be in his ship and wouldnt be able to participate, do you mean to say if hed have logged back in be could have fought? That's a little bit frustrating for us! Feeling fairly hard done by... Saying it wouldnt have mattered anyway due to X is hardly solid!

So to confirm, if you DC when the bubble is up from now on, you will be allowed to reconnect as you havent warped? So we were even more unlucky as if he had DCd a bit later the bubble would have been up? :-(

Thanks for the transparency anyway Veritas and yep we hope it doesn't happen to anyone else :-) wouldn't even wish it on our opponents!
