You lot never had anything fail on you then and not expect it to? Sure they can make backup plans for when things fail but somethings things can fail and be so unexpected or not practical to plan for. For example do you have a spare engine in your garage just incase your car's engine was to fail completly unexpectedly? Sure you get it serviced to help make sure it doesn't but sometimes things are just out of anyones control and they happen.

I am sure they are doing their best to resolve and rectify the situation.
