For anyone experiencing ads interrupting matches

I wanted to quickly cover how the ads on own3d work and how you can ensure they do not interrupt the action.

There are two points at which ads will run on our own3d stream:
-When you start or reload the stream
-When CCP tournament staff in the studio trigger them

To avoid having reload ads interrupt the matches you will have to avoid reloading or changing resolution during matches.

The CCP triggered ads should only ever appear over player ads, not over the matches. Some people have been experiencing those ads over the matches and this problem is caused by the fact that the stream on your computer can fall behind the live stream as it buffers over time. This lag is generally very gradual but over the course of a whole day it can become significant.

If you are experiencing ads overtop the matches you should reload the stream (with the reload button at the bottom of the window) during the breaks between each match. This will catch you up to the live stream again and you'll only miss parts of player ads or jitacam.

If these two tricks do not solve the ad problem, let us know and we will do everything we can to find a solution. Own3d has been very supportive in working with us to provide the best experience possible.

Are you going to create a minute ad or some other filler after the matchs so we do not miss any player generated ads .
Is the grainyness issue of the in space view been fixed when the camera moves around alot?

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

thats due to the progressive scan feed being converted to interlaced for some unfathomable reason

It's properly broken now. :D

Encoding artefacts, random pauses and breaks in the stream... not good.

I paused the streams between each of saturday's matches and still had ads appear 5 times during matches. Stream was on 360p (and never messed with) on a fast and stable internet connection.

The worst part is that this "fix" is just going to generate more ad revenue for them to continue with sh*tty service.

Usage of ad-block or similar addons will give you the pleasure of not having to watch any ads at all :)

That's what those of us who knew were telling people, CCP Fozzie. I'm glad someone finally made it clear. For those of you that are experiencing ads come up over play, after every match, refresh your stream. Don't PAUSE it. Refresh it. Pausing it does not relieve the lag that builds up.

The Fourth District vs. The Gorgon Empire.

Missed the first minute and a half of this match due to an EA ad for NCAA football. Pretty certain I didn't cause it as I was tabbed to another page and switched over when I heard the match commence.
