BLACK SCREEN OF EVE DEATH-Letter to CCP

Dear CCP,

The Login Screen-Black Screen of Eve Death is not new. It is not confined to one or two users on a rare occasion. It is not confined to one type of stricken hardware.

It is happening to multiple Mac users on multiple computers. Computers of varying ages and hardware products and hardware configurations. Computers of varying versions of OS X.

Why then is this problem left to the Mac community users to help each other? Why must we dig through our files to figure out the problem and delete the afflicted file? The best support answer from CCP that I've received, to date, is to delete an ini file and try restarting.

This is a CCP bug, it doesn't occur with any other program except Eve-Online. Why do you not fix this issue instead of forcing this community to do it on their own?

This black screen problem has happened to me three times now on two different computers. Why must I fix CCP's programing issues? Why can you not put a Mac programmer on this and get a fix for this issue?

Are Mac users so niche that the amount of money we spend on our subscriptions is but a mere drop in the bucket to you? Or as paying-players do we actually mean something to CCP?

Tonight, as I logged into Eve it happened again, for the third time. This is virtually a brand new computer after the last time. Rather than trash it and buy a new one I upgraded everything.

The base computer was a relatively new 27" iMac i7

I upgraded it to a Solid State Hard Drive, 32gigs of Ram, and a brand new GPU.

Eve ran fine again, in fact better than ever ... until tonight ... and the same old Black Screen of Eve Death.

Now I'll tell you, CCP, I do pay for multiple accounts, so I expect a certain level of support. If you cannot provide that support please explain why and I'll be happy to stop providing you with my credit card number every six months.

I love playing this game, but not enough to pay and not be able to log in.

Just as an P.S.:

I tried running the Repair tool. It ran, told me it repaired Eve, and I restarted Eve. Apparently the Eve repair tool doesn't fix "this" issue.

I knew it! Like a plague this abomination spread from you damn mac users, and all your prissy sleak hardware! i blame you!....jk..

but truly, running windows 7 on a 6 core with dual videocards and 16 gigs of ddr3 (for whatever thats worth) and i'm having same issue.
eve ran fine for like 2 weeks then out of nowhere decided to go all rebelious on me. now every time i open the game i just get a black screen and my computer completly freezes up.

tried running the repair tool, reinstalling eve, even reinstalled windows... twice!!!! goofed on the first try ;)

but yeah having simmilar issues so figured i would give follow up post

one more thing there's a lot of other players having same issue. forums are filled with gripes but no clear answer from the community and absolutly no word from eve staff. don't know if it's a new issue or if davy jones is just working his black magic.... probly the latter
