I can start on the habit of keeping you glasses clean, too, with details about how oily eyelashes spread the skin oils from the eyebrows all over the lenses until there is a sort of oily mist on them, stories about the funny stuff that exits the edge between the lenses and the frame when you clean it with a toothpick and stories about screws corroded by sweat.

Or the hassle you go through when cleaning your glasses' nose pads and lose a screw. The ones on my current pair are not standard to repair kits; I ended up tying it down with a punch-block wire (tucked away to hide it) until I could visit the eye store for a fix.

Also, I'm surprised no one's talked about the Transitions and Crizal lenses. I went to a Transitions lens in the current pair and (other then them not turning on inside a car) they work like a treat. My second pair are rec-specs as (at the time) I was doing a lot of MMA stuff (which was one of the drivers for the most recent glasses - they flew off too often Lol ).

ohhh the trials of getting old Evil. im approaching middle age (45) and my eye site is starting to get a little bit worse i`m starting to struggle with reading the bloody newspaper which sucks the left one a bit much ....the only comforting thought though is that most of the geezers my age that drink in my local pub are all starting to sheepishly pull out thier reading glasses ( i have yet managed to pluckup the courage to go and get a bloody pair)

the **** taking when I eventually get them will be horrible especially as I wear bloody hearing aides aswell Roll

I never experienced that as I never wore metal frame glasses... I use resin(?) frame as my lenses are way too thick and heavy for a metal frame.

Of course, resin has its own issues... mostly aging and breaking apart, something that happened twice to me. Over time, i've broke 3 frames and 2 lenses, fortunately before I started using lenses made of high refraction glass (those beasts are expensive).

Keep them clean. Also, wait until you try contact lenses. Almost the same OMG! experience as glasses but with peripheral vision.

How do you get over the...

HOLY **** ITS TOUCHING MY ******* EYEBALL MAKE IT STOP, AHHHHHHHH!!!!

Because I am going to be honest, I don't let many things touch my eye and it is a matter of quite some concern to me.

My brother gives me pink eye once a week, you get used to things touching your eye trust me.
