Curious what the best option is? Currently I am messing with an ishtar in EFT but not sure if it's the most cost efficient vs maybe a Myrm or a Brutix. This is the setup I am looking at right now

[Ishtar, 0.0 PvE Ishtar]
[Ishtar, 0.0 PvE Ishtar]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Damage Control II
Armor Thermic Hardener I
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Medium Armor Repairer II

Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Codebreaker I
Analyzer I
Experimental 10MN Afterburner I

Civilian Gatling Railgun, Civilian Railgun Charge
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]
Core Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I
Prototype Cloaking Device I

Medium Sentry Damage Augmentor I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Garde II x5
Ogre II x5
Hammerhead II x5
Hobgoblin II x5

I can't really fit anything else in the highs because of CPU, Not sure this would be effective or if there is a better option, this setup only gets me 585 DPS with gardes which seems lowish but what do I know. Hoping to move out to 0.0 at some point and planning my skills so I can make money when I actually get there.

I can actually use a proteus but I hear it's sort of garbage for PvE, however with new damage mods it might be worth it.

proteus is still crap for pve. rail proteus sucks, blaster proteus makes rats spread in every direction, so you have to get to them to kill them, which takes just too long. i have proteus, but it's bad ship for pve (u can use it as tank for the maze, but that's about it).

you ishtar fit is good, but i would suggest replacing damage control with new armor hardener. also use sister probes.

Yea I had read a couple of those but they still kind of leave me with questions, from the sounds of it though I would be better off just going with sentry ishtar even though it seems the proteus might work?

Messing around with a drone proteus got me Ishtar DPS on drones with huge blaster DPS however.

Drone Proteus works just fine, and has the benefits of tech 3.

The Ishtar gets 200+ dps from blasters, it's not easy to fit and requires more piloting, but the added damage is a big help in killing battleship rats, and I think more interesting to fly than just orbiting your sentries.

Anyway, don't read the forums like a bible, try out different ships and fits and see what suits you best.

Well I personally would rather fly a proteus for PvE mainly because of the cov ops cloak however having not been in 0.0 I am not sure that a blaster fit drone proteus would do very well.

Thanks for the info though.

Post-Inferno Proteus is like pre-Inferno Ishtar ( in terms of drone damage ) while being much better in other departments.
Pre-Inferno Ishtar worked really well in Serpentis and Guristas space ( both low and null ).
Drone Proteus works well in Serpentis nullsec ( I haven't tried Gurisas null yet ). Of course Tengu is still better but its not outclassing drone Proteus with new drone mods like it used to.
