It would be the exact same effect, but maybe some one else would read the patch note first and cash in, but someone would be stuck with the bill...

I happen to sit on a few thousand modules that currently goes for around a million, if CCP said that they gonna make changes that would make them worth half or a third of its current value. I would panic sell to buy orders, if I was first otherwise someone else would sell to my buy order.
It's sucks to be that guy. But its a part of the game and sorry to say not CCP's fault. Unless they decide to not change anything anymore to EVE this will happen again.

You assume that all those who took the "leap of faith" and invested heavily in the apparel industry are fools. Since you claim that CCP already provided us with the possibility of intentional devaluation of the current existing apparels in this "miraculous patch note," could you do us the honor by providing us with the specific links where CCP made such claims? You will note that you won't find any. Why? It's because you are just making up your stories as you go. Before you lecture us about our failure in performing due diligence and keeping up to date on the "patch notes," you should do your homework first.



Wow, You really missed the point here I think.
First I have never claimed there was in any patch note. On the contrary I am pointing out that the effect would be exactly the same if CCP put it in a patch note. But it would be a different set of player that would be stuck with the bill, those that havent read the patch note first.
Secondly learn to difference between an example and a story. The stories usually begin with "there was once upon a time...
Pay attention next time your mom read for you when you go to bed!

On a side note. It is good that with that kind of reasoning among so many player, the support for the devaluation of T2 Bpo must be declining Smile
But I recently sold one of mine, as an investor I know that i got paid approx 8 years profit for it. I figured that the risk That CCP wouldn't evolve EVE and introduce new modules and/or new tech levels on modules during these years was slim to nothing.
See what I did there?
I protected my self against future losses due to patches over an 8 years perspective....

Me thinking people that invest in the market and lose money are fools, just one thing to say about that. Welcome to the club!
Apparently we are all fools, not everything I have invested in has returned a profit. Fool on me.

If ccp says an item is going to be "exclusive" through a certain purchase means, then they should make it "exclusive" to that means of purchase. If they don't say its "exclusive" but just say its "special" then people shouldn't assume its exclusive.
