All I can scan are training sites!

I am very frustrated with this exploration thing, and I would love it if someone could help me out.

I'm new to Eve, but I'm figuring things out pretty quickly. I want to get into exploration, and I fully understand how to use the scanning probes; I do the scanning thing and I find several sites. The problem is that every site I find a site and zero in on it, it turns out to be one of the rookie, tutorial training sites. I can't seem to find anything new.

I've tried scanning around in neighboring systems and I get either the same problem or I find nothing whatsoever.

What am I doing wrong?

Stop scanning in noob systems. Expand your search. Like we're talking dozens of systems. Not a handful.

Finding sites in exploration means moving all the time from system to system.

What you need to also keep in mind is that you are not the only one doing it. Thus the systems can have been "wiped clean" by someone an hour before you which leaves no sites up. If that's the case, move over to next one.. if it's same situation there then someone has been working the nearby systems already. Your option then might be to check starmap and do 5-10 jumps away from the area you are in.. then try again.

If you are on late (several hours after the downtime) there might not be much to find at all as it's all been scanned down by others before you. Those times you might want to just break off the probing for the day and do something else.

Scanning is all about first-come, first-serve.

This is quite wrong.

Sites respawn all day.

Thanks for playing though.

Please don't give new folks bad info if you don't know what you are talking about.

Here is a punishmentyou yourself recommend for bad posts.

go to low security space, null security space, or even unknown space and you'll never find a training site again! :D
...or you can just stop scanning in rookie solar systems

I found a tutorial site once. Completely by accident, since I never did the tutorial.

Use the stats on your map to see where lots of people are flying... then go somewhere else, and scan systems there instead.

Been so long since I did any tutorials bur what Probe Launcher are you using.

I am not sure if their is a civilian model but if there is and you using it then maybe thats why?

Plus am at work so cant actually check the markets for such a module's existence. Just my two cents, flame on if I am being foolish. What?
