Anyone else spend way too much time with the character editor?

Every time I decide my avatar needs a major makeover, I spend about 4 or more hours with the editor trying to get everything just so.

Anyone else?

This was especially bad with the old editor because I kept timing out. One of my favorite un-lauded changes to the character editor is no longer timing out in the editor.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I have spent a good amount of time with this sequence. From the portrait page, print screen, change pose, print screen, alt tab, bring up images side by side or sequence them. If the comparing involves clothes/make up changes, or physical mods in initial creation then it is print screen, back, change feature, forward, print screen, alt tab. This can be a bit of a time consuming process, but the before and after comparisons really help.

What I have been really wasting a ton of time with recently is morphing software. With the hints from team avatar about mixed bloodlines I have been setting up temporary new characters from the other 11 races (yes I have done all of them multiple times) with similar parameters (using the above trick and split screen) in the exact same poses in the portrait capture screen. If everything is done correctly (same clothes, hairstyle, zoom, angle) the results can be very convincing. I found the Civire 25%-50% works very well for Gallente, and Achura also has a neat result. Maybe I should post the images if I can find somewhere to upload them.

edit:

Achura 50%

Brutor 50%

Civire 50%

Jinmei 50%

I'm naturally handsome, but I do spend a lot of time pruning my moustache to perfection.

I'd say you still need to spend more time.

Not empty quoting.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Half of avatars on this forum look like their owners spent hour(s) constructing them.

You are correct - EVE avatar constructor is fun mini-game. For me it's much more exciting than PI for example. It is shame re-sculpting interface can be used only once in a blue moon. Otherwise it could be exciting game feature - to be able to use it at will for like 10-100m ISK depending on amount of past attempts.

I made my original in about 1 minute. Random was (ab)used.

30min to 1 hour at most, probably because I'm pretty bad with that tool and can't find that little option I need to do what I want like skeleton reshaping with more options, scales, symmetry/asymmetry with scaling, colour creation, hair details changing, light manual position, possibility to use in game screen shots for background, make up options, clothing etc.

Edit: and those smiles !! -so mechanic and teeth bright makes me angry !!

No, after hours of reloading shaders for every freckle, I am as perfect as I could get.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

Also obligatory plug about the ability to make fatters characters in general, women with actual muscularity (max muscularity here, yeah right), and everything pre-Incarna back that we're still missing - thanks!

Reading Celeste's bio I'm now concerned that I will end up homeless with all of my cards maxed out if Furniture is introduced.

I keep getting lost in it!

the other day I was going to help CCP Paradox with some testing and I needed to create a new character and create a corporation and then in 15 minutes he asked me "are you done yet?"

"erm no... I'm still deciding what my newly created Caldari female should wear and I'm not totally sure about the hair style either"

and I've done this A MILLION times at least

By the looks of it people are blowing up many things.

Namely breasts, to the size of melons.

Oh yes. Poor female characters, they must have awful back pain every now and then.
