I know this has been said before in various forums, including this one in which the thread is old and locked :-

Removing local would be good for any sector of space.

1. Lowsec residents would get more of a rush when probes are seen on top of them.
2. Highsec residents would scamper for the same reason.
3. Gankers could establish their targets with more efficiency and would require thinking-up different techniques.
4. Miners would be more aware of their surroundings.
5. Botters would die in greater numbers.
6. Pirates could really be pirates, hunting their targets - not by a name in a channel, but by probing space - more effectively in teams.
7. Warfare would be made a lot more interesting.

There are more good reasons, but I do not wish to present a wall of text.

To supplement the above, please fix DScan. There should be, on every highly-advanced spaceship which is any spaceship to be found in Eve, a reasonably sophisticated scanning system for one's immediate space of 1 or 2 AU's. This, instead of having to spam DScan. There is a potential for a scanning skill here, other than what we have with probes.

Please consider and discuss.

What exactly are your ideas for DScan, assuming Local Chat lost it's Intel function?
