3) Nope
4) None
5) Yes, in due time
6) I do, even though I don't have a PS3. I look forward to working with them :P
7) When was that again?
8) Don't mind it. As a software guy I like seeing new features grow over time. Mostly as part of the team developing said feature, but it's kinda fun from the perspective of a user too :D

1) I have never seen a company care so much about a product ever. They have literally sacrificed entering other product areas to work EVE. Give em credit.

2) This questions removes from seriousness from the other questions. Don't metagame in such noobish ways. There is no circumvension of mechanics. The mechanics are used as intended. The game is not broken. You seem to dislike how it works, then leave.

3) Yes, they need to find ways to make this process seem faster, if they are unable or unwilling to make it faster.

4) Yes they have a problem with the balancing of resources, however, may I point out that even Microsoft and Google have old bugs that never seem to get fixed? I believe the balance is positive: great new core features, great new visual candy, significant improvements on the old. There are some changes that were ill advised (cough, incarna, cough) but they have been fixed.

5) They do all the time. They also do things to make money. Because, surprise, CCP is not a charity!

6) I for one give a lot of rat ass. I intend to pay for my multiple accounts supplying DUST players (which would number in the millions, not the hundreds of thousands), with their pew pew items. Its a win-win, we nerds get to play the game we love, with a vastly larger marketplace for isk, while not having to themepark EVE itself.

7) Not really a decline. There is a plateau, to be expected.

8) I love SiSi, and so should you, and if you hate changes, you should be active there.

I'll let CCPs Wrangler and Soundwave handle this for me.

Now I'll ask a question.

9. Why do carebears insist on playing a game which has fundamental principles that they don't like?
9b. Why do they feel entitles to change those principles just because they dislike them?

As a carebear, I'm offended you think the universe's principles aren't mine.

No; though I think the new mining barge redesigns will make life more interesting, and I kinda miss being able to refine modules from complexes, ratting, and mission running.

I've been through a few computers since starting five years ago; most of the bugs I saw have been fixed (well, other than the Corporation interface, and I'm told that is a "feature"?).

Musashi IV wrote:

Yes; because retaining existing and attracting new customers is important, so sometimes they will delay immediate profit (aka "delayed gratification") in the hopes of future profit. If you strive, you too can learn this. Do not give up. We have even taught this skill to chimpanzees:

Oh, never mind. Just accept that CCP expects some portion of new activations to not remain here.

It is actually the other way around.

DUST was supposed to be Xbox, after all CCP has plenty of experience with DirectX and with Microsoft products (they are one of the largest Microsoft customers in Iceland).

What happens is that DUST is supposed to be Free-to-play, microtransaction-based system.

Microsoft Xbox Live is notoriously bad with that type of model, as it charges developers huge fees for games, and essentially disallows the kind of small transactions required with a microtransaction business model.

CCP approached Microsoft, which flatout refused to allow CCP to even experimentally deploy a system like this, and treated CCP not as an innovator seeking to make an industry-changing game, but as a small publisher to be milked.

Sony, on the other hand, when approached, not only understood the implications, but fully embraced it, attempted to buy CCP and all the other drama.

And in fact, other competitors to CCP have come up with similar systems of microtransactions (Which are usually only facebook or webbased games, as well as some Origin games).

In other words, Sony respected CCP as an innovator.

Microsoft, on the other hand, was disrespectful.

I do not blame CCP at all, althought it would be awesome to have it in all consoles.

First, it's a terrible survey. Should have drunk a few more so you weren't able to post it at all.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?

Yes. Perhaps more so than any other MMO developer in history.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?

I would consider myself a carebear, because although I enjoy a little PvP now and then, 99.9% of my time in Eve is spent doing carebear things. And I take offense at your loaded question. There are risks with virtually anything you do in Eve. The only thing you can do that carries zero risk is sit in an NPC station and train skills. The risk any time you fly a ship in high sec is that someone may decide to suicide gank you. If they are willing to take the loss of their own ships to kill yours, that is their perogative. I have been fortunate in that this has never happened to me. But the same rule applies to all of Eve: if you can't afford to lose it, don't fly it. If you want a game where you can't lose your stuff then Eve is not the game for you.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?

In the 1.5 years I have been playing I have never needed to open a petition.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?

See above.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?

Yes. They like playing the game as much as we do.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?

I'm getting more and more excited about how it's going to work out, and the fact that I might actually be able to assist some console-only friends with their console MMO if they end up buying Dust. I would care even more if it was released on PC. I hope it happens eventually.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?

I didn't.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?

Another loaded question. Eve has had lots of real upgrades. I haven't minded being the guinea pig for any of them. I look forward to the upgrades yet to come.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
Yes, Eve has more developer - user interaction I've ever seen or felt in my decade of playing western and korean MMOs. Even say, if they hypothetically don't care, for all it's worth, in the long run, caring for customers should equate to their "monthly payment" in a positive way.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
I honestly don't understand the context of this question. CCP made the 'game mechanics', in a sandbox or even on any MMO, developers holds the sole power of controlling what a 'game mechanic' is. If they say it's allowed, then that is, the mechanics.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
No, and no BS, I'm quite satisfied by the petition response time in Eve. In most other MMOs, GMs and/or developers would probably ignore anything you say.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
Bugs in software works the same as they are in real life, they are always there, no matter where you are, some of them are relatively easy to exterminate, some of them are ridiculously hard to the extent that you'd probably won't realize it's there until you saw it yourself. CCP has done a pretty good job at keeping the pace, if you feel like some "bug" hasn't been fixed, doesn't necessarily mean that CCP aren't fixing any.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
Yes and no, all bug fixes are prioritized in the order of how much the issue affects the game/users and how many resources (time and human) it'll take to fix, which indirectly affect the subscription numbers, thus, money.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
I'm not interested on playing DUST myself, but I'm really interested on how it will affect Eve and how many new subs it'll make.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?
Not really no, I've seen the monthly, yearly and all time subs and all I can say is that Eve looks pretty healthy so far. If i recall, there was also a recent article on a well known gaming site which mentions that Eve is the only MMORPG that's keep growing in subs numbers since it was first released.

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?
If this means I can have new and/or better gameplay experience, regardless of the 'issues' that surfaced, I'd be happy to. No doubt.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
Yes. The two are inexorably tied together.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
If by "circumvent" you mean fix a broken mechanic that allowed high sec primadonnas to claim they had a corporation when it was a corp in name only and allowed them to have invulnerable infrastructure in space, I would say "No". It was more like a cool breeze in my face and a Mai Tai in my hand.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
I've been very pleased with the petitions I've been involved with. Both those I've submitted and those that were submitted against me.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
Impossible to say. I don't get stuck in gates anymore. I don't have to have a bazillion regional bookmark sets either.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
All of it has follow-on effects. I would say "no" but everything they are doing seems like it will help eve in the long run (even Incarna)

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
I do. I'm buying a PS3 just for DUST. Edit: In fact, I was just playing Halo Reach yesterday night and was thinking how funny it is that despite having over 100mil SP in EvE I'll probably be logged into DUST more than my EvE main...

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?

Yes, but the money aspect is a very real issue.

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?

Not sure which tin-foil hat issue you are refering to.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?

I talked to 'Peggy'. No longer using hamsters, we have upgraded to gerbils. Also the only 'long' petition I ever had was over a ship loss due to client, took a week or so, but the logs showed nothing.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?

None, but I've only been here four years (on and off).

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?

I expect CCP to run as a business. I, as a customer, will determine if they deserve my business.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?

I have no rats, only gerbils, and their posteriors are not detachable to for donation purposes. Since I do not have a PS3 I don't care about DUST.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?

I have noticed a decline in players, but with so many things happening who knows (UI is the big one for me, but summer, burnout, FW rage, hulkageddon rage, etc etc etc could be considered.)

8. How many of you love being the guiney pigs for all of EVE so called upgrades?

The gerbils and I agree that it would be really nice if CCP would setup a test server where concepts could be investigated and player feedback implemented before production deployment to reduce instability. SiSi would appear to be such a place, but weeks of warnings about things like the UI resulted in the broken mess we got and our input seemed like a waste of time. Not sure why I bother to keep SiSi installed.

1. Do you really think CCP cares about its customers other than thier monthly payment?
I think some do, others not. It's a business some people are there because they love the game others because they run a business. (at least that's how I see it)

2. Carebears did you feel like CCP kicked you in the balls by allowing a corporation and its pirate thugs to circumvent high-sec game mechanics?
From everything I have been reading lately CCP have been making it harder for people to circumvent high-sec mechanics.

3. Did your computer hamster die while waiting for CCP to answer a petition?
Never had a petition take longer than 48 hours. Although once had a bug report take 6months.

4. How many generations of your hamsters died while waiting for CCP to fix bugs that are over 5 years old?
Not sure, been playing only three years and CCP seems to fix bugs pretty well once they figure out how. I would say the hamsters died more due to the wait for ship balance.

5. Do you really think CCP is going to upgrade or fix anything that does not make it more money?
Yes, when it becomes the FOTM to complain about that area of the game.

6. How many of you really give a rats ass about DUST?
Kind of wish I had a PS3 it looks fun, not sure it's a great long term investment for CCP though considering how fickle console gamers tend to be.

7. How many of you noticed the decline of players a month after thier 1/2 price activation for new players?
Don't pay attention to online numbers.
